So we have picks 25, 44, 62, and 80 at the moment. We need to improve this with at least another first rounder or early second rounder.

Does Adelaide want anything from us? They have a couple of early second rounders. Fremantle have an early second, but I can’t imagine they’d want anything we have. They need what we lack (i.e., KPPs).

Pity North Melbourne doesn’t have an early second rounder. They were very generous in our last dealing with them.

Lost Cotchin, Castagna, Riewoldt and replacing them with Picks 25, 44 and 62.

This is going to be a vital trade/draft period. Being creative as Blair can be, we are lacking in key areas. Then the draft where hopefully Matt Clarke can get away from his flanker fetish for one draft.

my understanding is that we did not take JVR because we do not think he will make it as a KPF

According to calculating Cal Twomey, many clubs thought that JVR will eventually be a KPD rather than KPF

I'm not so sure we need to do too much this off season. Keep all of our picks for next year and see what our current crop can do under a new coach and a new game plan (unless it's Mini and the plan goes out the window). Use the 3 picks plus rookies, save a spot for the pre-season draft and another for the mid season draft, and figure out what we require to fill the gaps to be able to play the new coaches game plan.

It doesn't even matter if he is considered a reach. Our recruiters have said they don't play games, they just rank the players in order and take the one who is highest on their list when it is their pick.

If people think they know a better way to handle the draft than that they are silly.

First draft profile got. I know on one clubs board he was in the 30’s.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that. It’s what we value etc etc in why we chose him at Pick 17. But he was a “reach”.

We seem to value these outside flankers under Matt Clarke.

Personally don’t care on the value of brown. But if one club can “reach” then two clubs can also.

We reached for the stars for Conca, but if another club was just as bad that doesn’t mean he wasn’t a bad pick.

He might end up being a bad pick, but when he was ranked top-25 in basically any pre-draft prediction, then getting him where we did is not a ‘reach’. If anyone thinks it is probably doesn’t understand the meaning of ‘reach’ in drafting terms.

That’s a shame, I like brown, I think he’s going to be a really solid player for a long time, him and banks I think there numbers in AFL vs VFL won’t change a whole lot. Hoping they go up a little more with more experience though.
Wish we took JVR though, looks like a star and I think sonsie will be delisted in 2 years, lots of talent but got off field issues.
Still though Gibcus if he gets healthy will be a star, banks and brown will be good AFL players and I think Juddy could be a star. So still a good draft, could have been a great draft though if we had of taken our CHB and CHF for the next 12 years both in the one draft

What do you mean that Sonsie has off field issues. How do you know about his issue but the media doesn’t. If you are going to make statements like that you need to provide some facts
