From contacts within the club, had Eagles posters in his before pre draft and everytime they play in Perth and esp against the Eagles, they rile Baker up cause they know he loves playing there

Rare I agree given the last 3 years but there’s no way our F1 is currently valued at 10. It’s 3. At best. We’re better than North and probably better than Hawks but they have a lot of injuries I’ve been trying to reason with parts of my own board that Baker on 1 year deal at Richmond is the best case for everyone.Eagles in rare form at present. I won’t be horrified if he goes to the dockers. I’d rather that than give up draft currency in our position when he’d be a FA next year. Dockers aren’t going to pay pick 10 either I think there needs to be a bit of objectivity with Baker’s trade value. I love Bakes but if I had a choice of Baker or pick 10 I’d take pick 10 every day of the week and that’s looking at it neutrally.

Don Pyke certainly wants him but honestly I don’t see us offering a trade other than our 2R for him. I’m not saying that’s fair value, but I don’t see us splitting our 1st to get him. Again, sign him for a year or deal with the Dorkers!

We can offer you Kamdyn McIntosh , Nathan Broad , Jack Graham or even might be able to do Dion Prestia for the currency you have as R2

I’d imagine the only means you guys would have collateral would be if we somehow managed a late r1 and exchanged it for yours plus something else ,, few ifs tho , if bakes had a choice I’d suggest he’d go easier route to make the deal happen if money was ~ same
We are in the exact same position as the eagles and looking to play our younger talent and none of the players you mentioned fills a need
I cant see the eagles giving us a 1st rounder for him, they might offer up two 2nd rounders. (Not sure if they have these or not) I think Richmond will want more (1st Rounder) but I also can see Richmond not wanting to lose him. I certainly hope we don't get sucked in and offer him a ridiculous contract to stay. Personally, I'd hope Freo come to the party and offer us one of their 1st rounders if Baker does want to go home. I'm more convinced he is going to stay.

Going by the way the media are carrying on we may as well give him the next 10 brownlows and the eagles the next 10 flags.
Theres no point even playing anymore. Hes a generational talent who will win every game by himself. If the eagles didnt need to field a full side my sources say that the eagles would only contract Reid for the next decade to save salary cap space

and you just know that as soon as he has a couple of bad games (which he will), itll be all how he is overrated and was never that good.
With the contract offers being discussed, Baker will get something like the value of around pick 10. It might be made up of say pick 15 + pick 27 or something along those lines. But we will surely get a r1 pick for him as part of the deal.

I think it’s fair to link the pick to the contract, which is essentially what free agency does.

For starters there is no way in hell would Bakes manager agree for him to sign just a 1yr deal to get him to FA status.If he did and i was Bakes i'd sack him.Imagine if Bakes does a Gibcus and does a knee next year.Too risky.All we can offer Bakes we'll get you home.Where that is depends on what fair and reasonable and knowing the Character of Bakes he'll be accepting.

While he is being traded ... he is only worth a 2nd or 3rd rounder. After he is traded and played a few games he will be a star and bargain pick.
