Haven’t been impressed with JHF with lately. Absolute talent but he’s got a poor attitude at the moment. Can’t imagine the frustration at North but still, seems pretty unprofessional. Watching him act towards Goldstein at half time was poor.

Couldn’t think of a worse
Club to go to.. at least Gold Coast has decent weather. North are rabble and will be for the foreseeable future. I feel sorry for him. Be a tough gig..

Players who can drive out of stoppages with their legs are as rare as hens teeth; Neale, Petracca, Brayshaw, and formerly Fyfe and Dangerfield. That’s about it. Horne-Francis has that ability.

Add to that he’s actually a very good kick.

He could just about go kick-less for the rest of the year and he’d still be worth selling the farm for.

I mean I think he’s going to work out eventually, but there’s more question marks over jhf now than there was predraft, and that’s a bad thing.

The concern everyone brought up was his lack of winning lots of the ball, which was a little hard to read cause he played mostly seniors, but it was obvious that jhf could not find the ball on the outside at all. But I wrote that off as something that would improve in an afl system almost immediately.

The fact he has made no real strides in that department is a worry for me. If he was going to get better in that it’s something I would have expected some sign of either right away, or many years later..

He’s still worth backing in to get there, just cause of what he will be if he does.. but he might take more time than first perceived..

Either that or the Roos development is just that insanely bad and he will immediate flip a switch at a new club.

12 games man. For North.

The thing is, JHF is getting absolutely clobbered in the media every week. They're not doing North any favours by continually whacking him.

All this is so good for getting his value down.

Cooper Grech reporting he is asking for a trade end of this year, though who can trust him lol

Balancing up driving his value down is raising questions about JHFs worth against the quality player we are going to give up in the draft to get him.

Let's say we have a pressing need for a key defender and we go with that.

Jedd Busslinger
196cm Key Position Defender

3-4 years from now we are screaming for a key defender we didn't pick because we speculated on a player we thought would come good in a better environment.

North won't lose on this deal unless JHF improves out of sight.

It's sort of ironic hey, the best young draft talent in the country is aligned to the worst club in the country.

Its a good point and these questions will be answered later in the year. Busslinger is no guarantee either. The bigger question I have though is whether we might have players that could get it done.

Dangerfield struggled to find a lot of the ball at the start of his career too, but you could see the physical attributes were there. I think JHF is a similar type talent.

Sign JHF and select 6 x KPD in the rookie draft. Thats where half the good ones come from anyway.

King is making reasonable pionts here.

"He needs to pull his head in, it’s as simple as that. I know he’s a star factor player.

“He’s abusing his teammates on field. There’s problems with his own game that he’s not really presenting his best footy, yet he’s happy to spray guys that are 300-gamers.

“Here’s Goldstein trying to tap the ball to him, which becomes the source of a heated discussion at half-time.

“Now if you want to learn anything at 18 years of age going into an AFL system, you do not know the lot. You’re not the finished product, so listen to players that are trying to help you.

“It’s a massive issue in his game and it’s a real problem for this kid — from day one that’s been his mannerisms."

“I know you can say he’s frustrated with them not winning, but this abusing your teammates. I think it’s counter productive to what the group are trying to achieve, and I wonder what they’re doing down there to rein that in, because this has been a problem for two months now.”

Again I don't mind JHF it's just there's enough red flags not to overpay to get him and I'm feeling a bit nervous about any 1st round pick much less 2 of them. Its not like we are handing over Chris Groom to pick him up.

Kid hates to lose. Get him in and give him the number 69.

Tit-****er.

He's 18 years old. If you held me to account for everything I said and did at 18 it wouldn't be a pretty picture.

He's just a little bit immature. Comes from a broken home which wouldn't help. I think the average AFL draftee these days with their private schooling and perfect family are a bit misleading and not normal compared to kids their age in the general population. JHF is more normal and will grow up quick enough given he's now in a professional environment.
