That’s the price tag for a match winner.

I remember this board talking down Betts when Adelaide signed him too.
And how many premierships did Betts help the Crows win?

I'm genuinely scared that the club this stupid enough to do this and give Hinkley a chance to get an extension and cost our future
I was thinking the other day If we have a better run with injuries next year (had a stinker this year ) some of the younger players come on and we pick up ready to go players from draft/trade period we could easily make the 8 next year especially if we get an easy draw.
If that happens it wouldn’t be out of possibility for Ken to get an extension.
I’ve been saying for months Hinkley was not getting the sack this year and if we have a good year next year I would be confident this crazy fkd up board would sign him up for at least another 2 years.

You’d think the players would have the self awareness to know that given their massive drop off this year, our list has to go in rebuild mode and that if they want success we need to recruit.

We currently have 1 player who has kicked over 20 goals this year. 800k for Rankine will be looking like a bargain when he’s kicking goals every week.

some might. but mostly, no you'd think in the main the key understanding would be that the Hinkley-buddy era was about to end and the choices they make at that point as individuals can be quite varied.

Another stumbling block in getting JHF his manager is married to a Robran and she is really involved.

Spend the salary cap on sacking Hinkley. Boak can playing coach. Can't be worse.
You can all stop dreaming now about Ken getting the boot.
We should look at next year as a mini rebuild to try and get a team together that can go somewhere in 2024 with a new coach.
The catch 22 with this is we could do enough next year for Ken to get an extension and that would not surprise me one bit.

I think enough cages have been rattled that I’m confident no matter where we finish a fresh change would be seen as a good thing end of next year.

I think Koch will go first and that would leave Hinkley exposed.

If you can get JHF you do.

Port Adelaide is well prepared to pounce on a star rival player at some stage over the next two years thanks to clever list decisions, reports the Herald Sun.

While the Power will miss finals this year after two straight preliminary final appearances in the previous two seasons, they’re in a good position to launch into the market either this year or next year.

The Herald Sun reported the Power have the capacity to be “bold and adventurous”, thanks to shrewd list management calls that have seen them generate more salary cap space than most other rival clubs.

According to the newspaper’s ‘AFL Rich 100’, which ranks the top 100 highest-paid players in the competition in 2022, only one Power player sits inside the top 50 – Brownlow Medallist Ollie Wines at $750,000 to $850,000 – with Scott Lycett (No. 75) and Charlie Dixon (No. 100) next in line.

It means they could make a big play for Bulldogs midfielder Josh Dunkley or contracted Magpie Brodie Grundy, should either of them wish to move to South Australia.

The Power are preparing to lose wingman Karl Amon, who’s set to exercise his free agency rights and join a rival Victorian club.

Why in the absolute f*** is spud Lycett our second highest paid player?

IMHO we the list we have currently and even the injuries, we should be finishing top 8. The only position where we were found wanting more was Ruckman but Finlayson did more than what was asked of him. Any additions to this list should be taking us ladder on the ladder but given the liability we have in the form a certain Head Coach, I have to solely believe the players do something to stop listening to his stupid gameplan and come up with their own haha
