When did he get elected president of Israel or Palestine.

Must have missed that one

If you think that a US President needs to be the Israeli PM to exercise significant influence over that country's actions, then yes, I think you've missed a quite a bit.

We've all got a bit of time on our hands at the moment, you can take the opportunity to catch up.

Can you tell me why Musk, arguably the smartest man in the world who has done more for climate change than any of your hero ‘activists’ has swung from voting democrat to republican?
FFS - were you born yesterday.
The answer is self interest- it always is!

Hmmm. You must not be paying attention to current events. Bibi not listening to anyone at the moment cause he wants to stay out of jail. Where have I heard this before.

It’s almost boring how many people say they want the democracy only when it suits them. Would you like some more Bebe food to help you sleep? I have some apple purée…

Yes but the US keep giving them billions of dollars whenever they ask.

Anywho we know Trump has promised to be worse on the issue of Gaza.

Israel is sponsored by just about every western country. Don’t forget why.

Anyway I’m exiting the building no one wins this argument

Bibi the bad guy, yes of course...except that the operations in Gaza and now Lebanon come with the overwhelming support of the military, the Knesset, and the Israeli public.

Without that support, even Bibi the Barbarian would find his position quite difficult.

And without the complicity of the US, he would find his position untenable. Lucky for him that Joe has offered unstinting support:
- Billions in arms and weapons;
- Unfiltered access to US intelligence;
- Daily diplomatic cover;
- Unwavering advocacy in the UN;
- Aggressive efforts to at least discredit and more accurately intimidate the ICJ;
- Constant political pressure on State authorities to clamp down on pro-Palestine protests;
- Attempts to shut down public debate through the adoption of IHRA definition of antisemitism.

I'm sure I've missed plenty, but I certainly haven't been missing the news. The US has intervened in the past to change Israeli policy, but under Joe it has done nothing but prop up the slaughter in Gaza.

Ah. No black mark in Joe's book because the genocide is completely justified. Gotcha.

Stay relaxed and comfortable, mate...keep up the good work on Trumpoid.

Is there much else behind the reason optimism outside of the Iowa poll ?

Strong early female vote

Decent last poll from NYT Siena
Including up in NC and Georgia

ok. Biden runs Israel and is responsible for the October 7 attack and the response?

Genocide? Pretty loose use of the term. Anyway as I said this line of argument bores me given its lack of intelligence.

Trump did sign the Abraham accords though which meant absolutely nothing apart from his son in law getting funded by the PIF.

They could have threatened to withdraw funding if they didn’t do a ceasefire, I mean it’s gone way beyond any plausible plan to “get hamas”. Even Reagan told Israel to pull their heads in during the 80s otherwise no funding, and it worked.

Kamala still talking about having a republican in her cabinet. I mean I kinda get it, some rando normies probably think she is a radical leftist just cos she is black and a woman, so this is some attempt to normalise herself.

I hate it though, does it really move the needle for them?
Yep - happy for Republicans to speak up against Trump and a hope to return to a ''normal '' Republican Party - but having a Republican as Secretary of Costco is weird

Yah, let's just run a strawman and call the contrary argument unintelligent. Does that actually work in your social and work circles?

Biden is responsible for US policy, which has been the unstinting support of Israel while it engages in ethnic cleansing or barbaric slaughter or savage obliteration or whatever term Sir does prefer.

'Loose use' of genocide says the bloke who wondered if I'd missed the news. You evidently didn't catch the ICJ finding of probable genocide at the start of the year, which has only been strengthened by the atrocities since then.

I find apologists for this sort of thing as utterly repugnant and deranged as Trumpists.

Oh it does bore me for its lack of intelligence! Give me a f***ing break.

Not happening with the current climate with Iran it’s a different situation surely you understand this and I respect your opinion

He's a rank apologist who'd rather sit in the warm and shallow waters of anti-Trumpism.

Best not to jam up the rhythm of the thread and just leave him to it, I suppose.

All of your posts have been a strawman don’t pretend to do it now

Where does your outrage start and end? Not once have you mentioned October 7. Why?

Of course the Palestinians are being punished for Hamas no one disagrees with that but you can’t blame the US for their actions what a stupid premise

I actually find it intellectually interesting how Trump's corruption that led to the Abraham Accords (and on the way to normalising Israeli/Saudis relations) was ostensibly leading to peace yet was arguably the catalyst for the Hamas attacks.

I think it is very disingenuous, but you could certainly make the case that Trump administration policies was the primary reason the Middle East is where it is now.

Of course that's rubbish because both administrations try to normalise relations in the region. It's just a way to think about how Trump supporters justify his foreign policy.
