Hawkins kicked 3 and Stengle kicked 2; but it felt like Pearce and Walker won those battles.

Yeah I was thinking during the match that was probably one of the best games I've seen a defender play while still getting 3 kicked on them. Pearce was great.

It was a game we should've won and we did. And wasn't it good to watch. We were lucky to get Geelong this week and play them at home on a hot Melbourne day, but we made the most of that luck and made sure we got the job done and won by a good margin.

The gameplan is clicking now that the players are confident and despite being young and inexperienced we're looking like a decent team with an extremely bright future.

It was dire 3 weeks ago when we were 2 wins and 5 defeats after 7 games.

Beat the hawks at home, beat swans at SCG then beat the cats at home. All 3 games we scored a minimum of 100 points
All 5 wins we scored 100 points.

We only reached 100 points 5 times before this year under longmuir in 3 years

Oh and it felt like Treacy had more impact on the game than what 4 possessions suggests.

His physical presence and leading patterns / forward movement is really complimenting Jye in my opinion.

The best thing is even on a quiet day he rarely gets cleanly outmarked. Usually manages to crash in and bring the ball to ground to give the smalls a chance to go about their work.

Glad I went to this one.

Pos: From the ground I thought O'Meara was surprisingly good outta the centre. After the first quarter he and Darcy had a rhythm going.
Our defence was better today against stiffer opposition.
Cont marks from Amiss and fred I50 meant Ratugolea and Stewart's influence was limited.

Neg: Treacy struggled to get into the game.
Nitpick but johnson would hold play up almost every time he got the ball and destroy our transition. Banfield does this as well when he gets it up the ground outside f50. Need to coach it out of them.

Any stats minded people know the last time we kicked over 100 points three times in a row? Feels like we're finally starting to look like a consistent offensive threat.

Amazing the difference having an emerging superstar forward makes... and Amiss is doing a pretty good job of supporting Banfield too.

Way too good for our mob tonight, well played Freo.

Sean Darcy turning into such a leader and flying the flag for the big men in general, another great game.

Frederick, Clark and Jackson give your mob a lot of flair.

Always sucks to lose but fair play, Freo was very good today; hitting some great form.

Great win.
I liked the consistency throughout the game, for most of it, we kept the pressure on.
Look better when we take the game on with some run and carry.
I think we have a winning forward line finally. Treacy stays in as his "not stat" stuff is worth more than stats.
Mids were on top.
Bailey Banfield :)

Jye Amiss is taking some quality grabs at full stretch and speed.

We have our key forward.

Heā€™s going to tear this competition a new hole in a season or two and he will have his wicked way with it.

Imagine what heā€™ll be like if he ever gets a decent nightā€™s sleep.
