This is a sensitive area for some. With that in mind, I'm going to remind a few posters a few things:
  • personal attacks are against forum rules. From this point, any attacks that are directed at another poster will be treated with a warning, then infractions and threadbans if it continues.
  • the spread of misinformation is also against the rules. This is taken very seriously by moderation, and you will be asked to support your opinion from time to time. If you cannot satisfy this, you will be provided an opportunity to retract your post; if you do not, you will receive an infraction and a threadban on that basis.
This is a forum for adults, and I'd appreciate you all treating each other appropriately.

The reason Ben Wallace is favourite to become next PM is because the support for Ukraine against Russia is so popular.

Support to the Ukraine from UK will only increase with the next PM. I've no idea what they'll do on all the calamities within the UK, but the only thing I know they'll do is double-down on support for Ukraine as practically the only popular thing Johnson has done in years.

Wouldn't be surprised to see RAF moving assets to Russian-bordering countries for "exercises" as well as more forceful naval movements in the Med and the Baltic, again, more exercises, this would be mostly tokenistic. The other option would be to drastically increase support measures in material and training which will have more direct benefits to the Ukrainian military.

I think he's gone to the USA so something big might be happening.

China told residents to leave a couple days back too

There are some reports Ukraine has many dead solders as well in recent days.

Zelenskyy was reporting 500 a day a while back, too.

It's seems yet another very bad part of the war. Hopefully peace can happen sooner than expected
It was never 500 Ukrainian troops dead per day. That was 500 wounded per day back in early-mid June before the HIMARS were introduced and stopped the slow Russian advance in the east.

Since then, the Ukrainians have been mostly on the offensive with superior Western weapons and it's been the Russians, a large number of them poorly trained, supplied and equipped and forced by Putin to hold onto idiotic defensive positions until they are trapped and killed, who have suffered the far greater dead and casualties on the battlefield.

Peace is only possible when the Russians pee off out of Ukraine and Putin and his imperialist gangster cronies are removed from power.

Yeah that's what I was trying to say. 500 for a short period but it sounds grim recently too.

Including loss of tanks etc.

But they seem to be getting close kherson

In today's edition of guess the previous alias, I am guessing this one is an alt for the now banned maroon and blue.

Any other guesses?
Actually that guy was on here some months back. I remember suggesting he was a bot and he claiming that then I would also be a bot because he talked more about footy than I did ;)

Putin uses arguments going back 500 years about the Russian empire being the true owners of Ukraine. It's a wonder that Musk also doesn't apply this train of thought to Crimea which was originally inhabitated by the Ottoman empire (Turkey successor state) and then invaded by Russia in the late 1700s. According to Putin's logic Turkey is actually the true owner of Crimea.
NATO is screwed when the Romans get their shit together and want everything back

J Peterson as well , I expect

For a moment I thought you were talking about this guy

The bulk of Ukrainian casualities, like in all wars, came from artillery, and Russian artillery has dropped of noticeably. Even Russian soldiers talk about it.

While Ukraine has gotten more and better artillery. And the issue for Russians building big defensive positions is, it just helps identify what the Ukrainian artillery should shoot at.

Digging a hole, when enemy artillery are able to lob shells in the hole with you, isn't the protection from shelling it used to be.

Russian commanders making cash on the side by charging the mobiliks 5000 rubles ($130 AUD) if they want to get off the front line and back to the rear.

When you accept bribes to ensure that new recruits don't **** up your operations - then it's about time to close up your show and go home.

Well... really the Greeks if we want to go back to the origins

Edit: point already made

Something I just discovered (not new news, but new to me). Estimated reserves of gas under Ukraine, which Russia will have access to, along with shipment routes, is approx $1 trillion worth.

This whole thing may be just an energy resources grab, trying to make Russia a world energy linchpin, and un-sanctionable.

Concern over NATO expansion is cover for building a Slavic Empire, which is cover for stealing $1 trillion from fellow Slavs.

This is garbage.
How many millions of Ukrainians left their country during the Russian invasion?
Who is this footage for? The brain dead?
Yep, pretty much so as it's Russian state TV. It's just more BS propaganda that will be dressed up in Russia as their army "saving their people" from "nazis". Notice they interview the bloke wearing a pro-Russian jacket.

Here's the same vid with English subtitles.

The female reporter mentioned a queue to Alyosha (which I think is Oleshky?) but the bloke in the Russian jacket says 1000 people are off to either Crimea, Krasnodar (southern Russia) or somewhere else. Good luck getting over the Kerch bridge.

There was a video posted a while back on here about this. In 2012, new natural gas deposits were found in the Dombas region and the northern Black sea (whoever held Crimea had access to 84% of the sea rights to the latter). While it's not the only reason, this invasion beginning in 2014 is not only an energy resources grab but also a protection racket to preserve Russia's monopoly as Europe's only petro-state controlled by Russian oligarchs that prop up Putin's regime and who don't want any competition from Ukraine when selling natural gas to the rest of Europe.

Here's the vid:

Yep, and lets face it there’s plenty of those in Russia!

Just another propaganda tool used by the idiot collaborators pretending to care for people, when all they are doing is using civilians as human shields in their retreat.

However not sure how many troops or vehicles they can withdraw amongst the crowd because even though that muppet spokesperson said 50,000 - 60,000 will be evacuated, they will be lucky to get a few thousand to heed the call (and they would be Russian sympathisers who would be arrested once the UAF regains control of the town). Kherson had a pre war population of 300,000 so the ones leaving is minimal and shows you how many locals hecken hate the orcs.

I occasionally pop onto Medvedev"s telegram channel and it is clear negotiating with these homicidal maniacs is not possible. He openly declares Ukraine must subjugate to Russia and still rambles on about the long discredited Nazi nonsense.

Post war I don't see how relations between Ukraine & Russia are possible no matter what the result is with Putin/Lavrov/Medvedev in charge.

Medvedev doesn’t have a mind of his own.
