Yeah that was it. Was hit by a first stick and survived, but in a show of how many ****s the russians have to give, the operator didn't move it to a safer location, instead opting to just stay there until it was inevitably taken down.

Kind of like how the whole war is going for them.

"difficult fate" has a way with words doesn't he ?
Americans don't have any evidence it was missile strike so looks more like a bomb.

Bomb seems very likely considering the absolute lack of evidence of a SAM launch in broad daylight. By now we would have heard witness accounts of a missile launch (that's something you can't keep quiet on media) and/or photos of a SAM smoke trail / video of missile in flight.

Surely the Americans have Moscow under monitoring.

Thorough investigation he says. Yet within 12 hours of the plane crashing with hardly any chance to do anything, they're already claiming its a bomb.

Well that explains how the Ewoks defeated the Galactic Empire's troops on the moon of Endor ;).

In breaking news a Russian S300 battery targeted by Ukranian insurgents with sticks / slingshots fired a SAM at incoming sticks.

Prigohzhins plane was an innocent bystander caught up in the tragedy. Ukranian Nazis will be blamed.

Prigohzhin & Utkin will receive posthumous hero of Russia awards from Putin.

Some unhinged stuff here from Russia's UN Ambassador.

Interesting final sentence:

"May the Ukrainian tragedy never be repeated again," (he means the tragedy the Russians are trying to undo, btw)

How touching.

He does not give a flying **** about the innocent crew on that flight. Why take them out because you're too weak to do it yourself. At least with Nemstov there was no collateral damage despite that being an absolutely despicable act.

you'd think Tokamak would be the objective. That would be a huge gain if they can achieve that in the next few days.
In this direction of the Ukranian counterattack, Novoprokopivka and Ilchenkove are the two towns before reaching the first main Russian defence line 4-5km away from the front line near Solodka Balka. There's another defence line a further 8km after that (near Chervonohirka) followed by Tokmak surrounded by another defence line which is 20km away from the front line.

There's another attack vector in the direction towards Verbove where the UAF has already reached the first main Russian defence line.

Hmm. Some Russian military bloggers are already claiming that the orcs have left Novoprokopivka and are retreating back to that defensive line at Solodka Balka. There are also further reports that the UAF are massing forces at Orikhiv.

My guess if the above is true. The UAF have senses that the orcs, just like Collingwood, has a heavy frontline defence, and once breached there are no reserves out the back to stop the onslaught. They will then attack on a line from Kopani to Verbove to protect the flanks and spearhead through Solodka Balka to try and get that major breakthrough.

Thats a great resource, I'd not seen that before. They've even marked the sinking of the Moskva. Didn't realise that it was sunk that close to the Ukraine coast.

If they can split the defence and reach the coast, they can roll up their axis of approach to Crimea and isolate the Russian forces there. Big month coming up you'd think.

It does feel like the Russians have been using all their fingers plugging holes in the dam wall already.

So if the Ukrainians punch a nice hole somewhere, the Russians aren't going to be able to plug the hole there without unplugging other holes elsewhere.

The collapse of Russian defences could be a case of slowly, slowly, slowly, slowly, then all at once

For Central Asian countries, the ruble has outsized importance due to the region's level of economic integration with Moscow and because of the millions of migrants from the region -- chiefly from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan -- that earn money in Russia.
But while the currency might have reached its bottom in the near term, stabilizing at around 93 to the dollar after the hike, its longer-term health remains a major source of concern for a landlocked region perennially exposed to Russian crises.

On August 15, citing interviews with Uzbek diaspora leaders, the Russian business daily Vedomosti speculated that a potentially massive migrant exodus from Russia might be imminent if the ruble doesn't start rising in value soon.

The pandemic was brutal, with sudden layoffs sending nationals from the region back home in their tens of thousands to economies where jobs were few.
But those disruptions have arguably been eclipsed by blowback from the Ukraine invasion, which has seen migrants aggressively targeted in a Russian military recruitment drive.
