Europe War in Ukraine - Thread 4 - thread rules updated

This is the thread for discussing the War in Ukraine. Should you want to discuss the geopolitics, the history, or an interesting tangent, head over here:

If a post isn't directly concerning the events of the war or starts to derail the thread, report the post to us and we'll move it over there.

Seeing as multiple people seem to have forgotten, abuse is against the rules of BF. Continuous, page long attacks directed at a single poster in this thread will result in threadbans for a week from this point; doing so again once you have returned will make the bans permanent and will be escalated to infractions.

This thread still has misinformation rules, and occasionally you will be asked to demonstrate a claim you have made by moderation. If you cannot, you will be offered the opportunity to amend the post to reflect that it's opinion, to remove the post, or you will be threadbanned and infracted for sharing misinformation.

Addendum: from this point, use of any variant of the word 'orc' to describe combatants, politicians or russians in general will be deleted and the poster will receive a warning. If the behaviour continues, it will be escalated. Consider this fair warning.

Finally: If I see the word Nazi or Hitler being flung around, there had better have a good faith basis as to how it's applicable to the Russian invasion - as in, video/photographic evidence of POW camps designed to remove another ethnic group - or to the current Ukrainian army. If this does not occur, you will be threadbanned for posting off topic

This is a sensitive area, and I understand that this makes for fairly incensed conversation sometimes. This does not mean the rules do not apply, whether to a poster positing a Pro-Ukraine stance or a poster positing an alternative view.

Behave, people.

China's now getting oil from Iran

Snubbing Russian oil due to uninsureable shadow tanker fleet.

Putin trying to seize bank deposits of $13,300 or greater but is getting push back from Duma representatives. Guess he'll throw out any Duma members from windows that don't support this.

Yet Putin reckons everything is going great.

Recent footage of a new "shotgun drone". Other sources refer to it as a "Winchester" drone.

I'm not sold that this is in service yet - these could be test runs imo.

I went looking for the original TG post the guy is examining: [Lesia UA Foundation]

Wouldn't mind one of these for deer hunting!

UK and France seeking to get troops on the ground in Ukraine, in a "peace keeping" role, after any potential negotiated settlement with Russia.

As if Russia would accept NATO troops on its border, after starting a war to prevent this from happening!!

Such is the desperation now of the NATO powers. They have invested already a huge amount in terms of military spending and training for the Ukrainian army in the war against Russia. They want a return for their investment.

They are panicking because no one knows whether Trump will maintain the same levels of US military aid. He has already threatened to remove it if they don't up their military spending to 5% of GDP (currently it is about 2.5% ).

If the war ends with Ukraine occupying less territory than before, and the Putin government intact, they will have not achieved any of their aims whatsoever.

Therefore they are making insane proposals to get their troops into Ukraine, for the purposes of escalating the war. They are on a path to catastrophe.

They won't be needed if Russian troops return to their own country.

This is the time you end your NATO nonsense about Ukraine.

Russia, including your mate Dugin, have always declared they believe Ukraine to be a personal possession of theirs.

Any state or organisation that supports Ukraine's right to peace and independence are the enemy in Russia's view.

This is why your nation's soldiers have been found to systematically torture, mutilate, abuse and murder Ukranians within Ukraine and also within the Russian federation simply because they refused to live under a puppet Russian state that Russia incorrectly believes is theirs.

I also hope you don't have more than $13,000 in your Russian bank account or if you have you've moved the money to a safe spot. Otherwise Putin is emptying those accounts to fund his absolutely delusional fascist attempt at recreating a new Russian empire. Let's call it USSR 2.0 lite.
