Certified Legendary Thread We can win this year premership

I truly believe we can win it this year if:

i) our spine continues to improve and stands up. This is Redpath/TBoyd, Roughead/Campbell and Adams;

ii) our injured players return and recapture their form: JJ, Suckling, Stevens and Adams;

iii) we suffer no more injuries to significant players and the form of our veterans hold: Morris and MBoyd;

iv) our game plan stands up at the MCG.

This year feels like any number (5-6) of teams could snatch the flag. Or do we say this every year? It might be the gap year between the Hawks dynasty and another club's dynasty such as GWS (or can we dream about it being us...).

Winning the flag has a certain amount of luck involved. Unfortunately we are usually the ones providing the luck to other teams.

But in saying that if a few things go our way we could pinch it, final order of the 8, avoid Geelong and Hawthorn in preliminary finals, have a full strength side, decent umpires etc.

We have some luck in the sudden demise of Freo, who is our last game. It could be used in a number of ways, resting players, percentage boost etc, providing the remain as bad as they are currently.

It was mentioned on triple MMM that Bob starts on the bike soon and if his knee continues to improve quicker than expected and we are in contention it is not impossible for him to be back this season. I would love to update my avatar with both Bob 2016 and Charlie 1954 holding the cup. Think that would take a couple weeks to do as I would not be sober enough to it for a while.

Most open race for the premiership in a season I can remember, there is 8 teams who would all think they are a genuine chance.

I would not be writing off Sydney just yet. I still think they have it in them to beat Adelaide (who have to play away) and knock off Geelong in the prelim. We can certainly take on GWS with a full compliment and make it through on the provision that we can overcome hawthorn on the rebound

I'm sure the way you guys are going I will hate everything about your Club (take that as a compliment) but for now it's good see what can be achieved and can appreciate that for now. Dont be grateful, we couldnt care less about some record from a billion years ago when the game wasn't even a professional sport and there were less teams. I get that you're not relevant at the moment but hanging onto the kind of history is just sad man.

I'd just like to say that last nights game was ****ing amazing!
I was there and you guys played so well. If you play like that then you can most certainly beat GWS and then sydney in the GF, you always play well against sydney so you never know.

I was sitting in the members and he was coming off the ground after Quaterr time, he was running. I highly doubt he would be back in 2 weeks though. I was thinking on the way home that if this is how the dogs can play with Half of there best players in, what can they do with the full team back, #Dogswillwinin2017

I stand here before you all and say I firmly believe we will knock off GWS and get to the GF. I just hope we can then go all the way from there.

Luke Beveridge needs to take a bow here, when the dogs were up at Maroochydore earlier this year I shook his hand and thanked him for giving us hope. It made me more emotional than I care to admit. But he HAS given us hope - hope and belief.
