Very happy with this pick. Very confident he’s AFL quality and has the potential to be the best player in the draft given his high hurt factor. Apparently he’s trained with the club so we’ve obviously seen him at close range.

If the behaviour issues were substantial, I suspect our club would know as much about them as any club.

I really really like this fella. You can see that footy is an obsession with him. He'll do anything to get the edge. We need this at the club.

Flogs himself with boxing sessions, running sessions, hired a stretch coach, a weights coach... borderline unhealthy for an 18yr old to do, but I'll take it.

This could well be the steal of the draft.

Hewett just oozes talent.

Have had discussions with people who are adamant that the club has instructed him to underperform this year to ensure he fell their way.


2021 form was arguably in the top 5 of this draft crop.

Gets to contests, wins ball, finds avenues out of contests and hits targets. What's not to like about that?

To me his play reminiscent of S.Burgoyne. Even half of that career would be a spectacular win.


Feel that if he is able to act as an attacking foil off other contested midfielders then he could develop into an exceptionally damaging player.

Has a love that bleeds for the club and a resolve to extract the most out of himself as a player.


I'm very happy with this pick and that the club were able to land a target they have been aware of for a long time now.

The player most likely to become the club's next Brownlow medallist.
