Collins screams out as a goal kicking wingman...we need more left footers, he will fit in perfectly...Just because he managed to snag a few goals doesnt mean he is a permanent forward...His a big striding left footer, good trade, ahs a lot more scope than the one dimensional Grigg

This kills me to say it but if you guys get Andy you will all love him!

This is a personal comparison for andy but i see him being very much in the Lenny Hayes mould, He's not quick, his skills arent elite but they're more than a pass mark for AFL level, and he is an out and out FOOTBALLER,........The guys has 1 of the most level heads on his shoulders and if you watch him move in and out of packs at stoppages he just reminds me of a young Lenny, Gutted we even considered trading Andy, he loves footy and formed a strong bond with Cuz over the last 2 years (was his brownlow date aswell).

1 things for sure you will never have to question Andy's output on game day and at training.

Gutted, absolutely gutted!

Disagree. We might end up winners but Grigg can play. Was in our best on at least 3 occasions in his 8 games this season.

Very different types with Collins being a smart forward who can perhaps move into the midfield, while Grigg is a big bodied midfielder with suspect (but improving) decision making.

Grigg has no vision or skill surely the tigers will not do this trade if so very very excited, the boy collins looks a real player

Seemingly Richmond judge trade week success by the scraps they can pounce on in the PSD. Not a shred of coherent trade discussion to be had on that board, just retrobates frothing at the mouth at the prospect at picking up another clubs fringe players.

Well done guys...you sure showed us:eek:

What exactly is a "retrobate", Kramer?? A smug, self-righteous tone is a lot easier to maintain when you can read, write and spell. Imbecile.

This trade is both devastating and baffling to me.

-Grigg is walking.
-Andy is Contacted.
-Hardwick says we will only draft players that can kick.
-Grigg is an awful kick.
-Collins is a sublime kick.

The only way I could see this happenening is if you were to upgrade one of our picks in the late 20's to your 1st round selection.

Or if our recruiters are all imbred. Collins is a far better player than Houli or Jacobs so parting with him so we can still get one of these guys in the PSD is stupid.

I think you may have Collins mixed up with Connors.

I am pretty sure Collins is a right footer.

Dream on.

You blokes reckon Carlton supporters overrate their players.

I won't lay claim to a whole heap of book learnin' but I reckon it's along the lines of someone who might be a bit out of touch.

I'm trying to think of a good example...imagine if you can a football club who despite more than a generation of abject failure continue to see themselves as relevant to the modern football landscape. A club trading almost entirely on a long distant...hmm, glory isn't the right word, let's settle on adequacy.

A club who have defined failure at all levels of the game for so long that herding some fringe bit part player into the PSD is seen as some sort of crowning achievment.

It's a pretty far fetched example, but if such a club existed I think someone who followed them might be classed as some sort of retrobate.

Would you like a definition for masochist while I'm at it?

Love your work :thumbsu:

PSD works fine if there is only one player you want, we had no hand until good ol Houli walked on the Dons, meaning suddenly the Tiges have 2 players they want but only 1 pick. So in effect they have to trade for him. And some people complain the club dont rush out and get deals done early, the wait has turned this around, Good Work Swann and Icke again. They are having a stellar week.

Why are people on here rating Grigg so highly. Grigg is not and never will be an effective player. He has no short range passing in his game. And his long kicks are always so high that any opposition defender has time to cover the forward grigg is passing to. The only thing Grigg is good at is getting to slot of contests and racking up possies, but if he can't use it then what's the point?

If we lost grigg for nothing I wouldn't bat an eye lid. He's vfl standard.

nfi who or what a Collins is, but almost anything from Richmond would be an upgrade on Grigg.

I reckon that this will make it hard to play the three amigo's all at once. However, if Collins can rotate through the midfield then that could mean that the club would be working on developing Yarrans tank during the pre-season with the intention of having him playing on one of the wings.

Or... he could be being brought in as a long term replacement for Hoops.

Throw Eddie on the ball in the midfield thats what Ratts did a few times this year when he wasn't getting a touch up forward, with his quick hands he did ok IMO.:thumbsu:

Confirmed or Not, ill believe it when I see it on Monday.

As with the Fevola deal, we were in no position to bargain, we had shown our hand and everyone knew Fevola was out, they couldve taken us to the absolute cleaners and given us a late pick of a fringe player.
They instead give us a promising first round pick in Henderson, and their first round pick in the 2009 draft.

Similar situation here, Grigg is uncontracted and yes they need to trade for one of their PSD prospects, as they only have one pick but sureley they couldve given us alot less.
Swann and Icke must be the biggest shit talkers i have ever seen, as they can just turn situations where we have no power, into one where we are dictacting what we want.

Love your work.

Ill still wait until Monday to see it.

I really like this trade.

Collins isn't quite as naturally talented as Grigg, but he's a hell of a lot more determined and has every chance to be better in the long run. His kicking skills are also significantly better than Grigg's.

This move indicates to me that Richmond are banking on having to use their PSD pick on Bachar Houli.

You must have been reading a different board to the rest of us. Most aren't that excited at the prospect of Grigg. Looks to me like you've done better than us but Collins is very light. Tidy goalsneak though. Probably a fair trade - both have limitations.
