Overs??? For a player that is better than Rioli and Burgoyne combined?

Don't buy into the biased Vic media aspect.

He will also get the frees he never gets at Port.

Rubbish. Burgoyne should have been port captain and was then a much better player than wingard as per his last 3 years.

Must be something in the water in SA ...

Port fans always have an obsession with saying a bunch of our players are garbage for some reason, half of them think Burton is vanilla. Rapt to have him but better than Rioli and Burgoyne combined, get real.

go away Rioli and Burgoyne are worth three times this chappy. For me he has always been Hodgey's chew toy........
You do realise Chad plays for us now right?

Clueless, you’ll see now.
Feel free to apologise in a few years time.
He smashes both on stats alone...in a comparatively crap team and younger!
I'm looking forward to what Chad can do under Clarko but don't think coming on here and bagging Silk, Cyril or Hodgey is going to get you far

Unfortunately, I have issues with Chad at the hawks and paying overs for a guy who would have been a FA next year.

My feelings are shattered to lose Burton, it will take a lot for me to warm for the Chad.

Many folks rate Wingard - how do I welcome a player I was hoping the hawks would avoid.

Many would know there are players you don't warm yourself to and hope things may change one day.
I'm in the same boat, will need a lot of convincing...

What does he mean by hawthorn is very welcoming to the brothers? Was port not welcoming to the indigenous players/community?

Crazy stuff if true

No, he just meant that Hawthorn are. Nothing to do with Port and that wasn't implied.

It seems Chad had a very big mid-season turnaround. Is this only due to a shift to the midfield. I'm wondering, given the rumours about how Clarko has been interested in him for a while, whether Clarko might have had a small chat and said "show me what you can do".

If Chad can produce what he did in the second half of the season then this completely changes our mix in the midfield, if that's where Clarko chooses to play him. Check the bottom of half of the table at the end of this page:

Super impressive is his last game - 32 disposals with 75% TOG.
