Agreed his dad was a gun.
Was genuinely impressed with Edwards composure, took that half a second longer to make good football decisions and managed to always be moving which for a midfielder is key to giving yourself that little bit of extra time to make those good decisions.
Also, Foley looks like he belongs at this level, his disposal is terrific and again, doesn't appeared rushed at all.
Silver lining to all these injuries is that these young guys are grabbing their chances.
Think both these boys have had a couple of good games now so that's very encouraging. Having time when disposing is a very important trait of quality footballers. Don't think we should forget the other Edwards. Plenty of ball entering WC's backing & he made some really good decisions. Lot to like there also.
To be fair we did give away gem in Devon Roberson but it's looking like we get one back with Luke EdwardsRemember when we traded away all our future prospects to Geelong to get T Kelly?
Yea that was what I gleaned from the situation as wellI heard on 720 this week that it may have been the other way around. Apparently the Edwards family didn't like the treatment of his older brother who was a rookie list spot for the Crows.
Reckon they'll give it to Thilthorpe this week, they usually like to make a player wait a few games to get a nom. But it would be very well deserved if he did get it11 possessions and 4 score involvements during that last quarter alone against Richmond - in just his second senior game.
That is a seriously good performance - like "Wow, we have found something rare here" serious.
Incredible amount of poise with ball in hand for such a young player - as others have mentioned, it is almost Pendlebury-like.
Just as impressive was his ability to find space and provide a link-up option in moving the ball forward - very quick to see play open up and take the right option.
11 of his total of 27 possessions were contested.
His efforts were the catalyst in arresting the Tiger's momentum and delivering a victory that could prove to be season-defining for the club.
A fantastic match under any circumstances and it should earn him a nomination in the Rising Star.
And a feather in the cap to the recruitment team - a 4th round pick has uncovered a diamond.
And also, thanks again Adelaide (I don't think we are going to tire of that one anytime soon).
South Australian boy with a hairline like that? Say no more.
