McGovern marked, Vardy marked, Ryan marked, Sheed marked and then goaled.
The one thing we feared above all else got us in the end. Eagles marking power in the contests.
It was some kick from the boundary to win it too.
Hats off to the Eagles, they went out and won it with their own good play in the end.
No fluke, no arse, just good play.
So I’m not dark on anything. We did our best.

Makes a mockery of whinging non Victorians about the grand final being at the MCG. The Eagles came over from Perth without their best mid and ruck and a gun defender and did it! It's possible to win away from your home deck!

Its also possible to roll double sixes

West Coast showed the value of marking key forwards to get them out of defense and marking intercept defenders.

Schofield was huge.
Vardy was important, exactly the player Geelong need now and arguable whether he would be on the West Coast list now if Nic Nat hadn't done his knee the time before last.

Collingwood's defense held up well considering they were missing a key back to spoil those contests, assuming their key back would be where Goldsack was but with slightly longer reach.

Hutchings did a great job. Greenwood did a great job until he was moved to Shuey who kept on going like he wasn't there while Yeo stepped into the game.

Nice close game.

It seems obvious but more clubs should adopt this where possible, the GF is at the MCG for the foreseeable future, if this helps interstate sides play the ground better its surely a no-brainer

I think the fact that we have a training ground that size helps - i think the fact that we can turn the training into practise at optus is the killer.

The gabba is similar to the g and im betting that never hurt the brisbane threepeat.

Adelaide, port, and the etihad teams are fwarked but.

Excellent game. Schofield was simply brilliant. This guy not playing AFL regularly is a joke and he should ask for a trade if that is not the plan for 2019

He reduced shueys output by 10% but reduced yeo by 50%

Next year coaches will take note of this

Have watched the whole game twice now and that last 5 minutes about 10 times. What a contest. Feel very proud to support West Coast. Adam Simpson is a deadset legend. Really loved the environment he's created and it was really great to see the players with their families on the 'G after the game.
Well done Pies. Classy bunch and a lot to look forward to. Threw everything at us and had every right to take the cup today.

Hoping we get the respect we deserve now. You could tell in Dom Sheed's interview that the players are pretty peeved about being written off constantly this season by all those wise men and women from the east. We've had a lot thrown at us this year and have answered every question posed.

Yep congratulations to West Coast, being a Port Adelaide supporter I know all too well about Eagle comebacks and last moment wins so kinda knew that Collingwood were in for a rude awakening when they kicked away in the first half

Yeo was getting frustrated and not having an impact. Simpson probably should've moved him to half back or put him in the forward pocket. He's a much better overhead mark than Greenwood.
