West Coast Eagles premiers!!!

I didn't exactly have the Eagles down in Wallsy territory but thought they may have struggled this year. Clearly I was wrong and they are most deserving Premiers. Huge effort by all involved at the club.
I wrote them off after Gaff & Natanui went down. Mainly Gaff, because I thought he was really important in their weakest area (midfield).

They have the best big man division all over the park in the game though, and it's not close.

Bad luck mate

I know how this feels ....2005 losing to swans in th last few minutes

You’ll be back

Be proud mate. Wear your colours to the pub

Hehe cheers mate, bit hard with 2 littlies at home.

Your supporter base has been very classy.

Incredible game. you probably should have broken us 10 mins earlier.

Enjoy the celebrations

Makes a mockery of whinging non Victorians about the grand final being at the MCG. The Eagles came over from Perth without their best mid and ruck and a gun defender and did it! It's possible to win away from your home deck!
No it doesn't lol, West Coast would have won that today by 4-5 goals on a neutral venue. It's a complete valid argument, a handicap on the grand final win or lose is a joke from any side. I don't even want a grand final played on my sides home deck.

Well done to both sides on a pretty good gf.
Certainly the best in recent memory.....not quite an epic, but a good contest.
Thought it was over early then the Eagles slowly took control of the match and were the better side on the day.
I wonder what Gaff will do?
Will Lynch chose the Pies?
Lots to play out in the next week.
Bring on 2019

no, infact i'd put that 5 goal lead to pies down to the initial away nerves and away crowd, with another 1-2 to home town umpiring. Eagles would have won by 8 goal easy if this were at optus.

Id like to point out that to a man my mates over in melbs have all commented on how classy in defeat the collinwood fans have been

Stereotypes be f{}#%^

Know this pies fans: there is something there in that team - still young and raw - theres a flag in that team.

Good luck

Pies won 2010 by the slimmest of 'margins' - no margin in the first - but a thumping in the replay. Feel most sorry for Saints fans after 09 and 10.

Yep, as if a side overcoming the odds makes the argument any less valid. No one said it can't be done, just that it shouldn't need to be against the odds... legit best side should win not courtesy of help.

I made a comment that I stand by

Melbourne were cocka hoop playing us

I said melbourne with one good season didn’t serserve to be in grand final ....they had not paid the ultimate price ....we’ve had four seasons in the finals, heartache in 2015...and rebuilt

Ww were second all year ...lots players like Kennedy to a broken leg .....darling was injured ...

Then Nic Nat ....then Shep ....gaff loss

We overcame everything this year .....mcg hoo doo

We couldn’t win on the MCG ......we were flat track bullies

McGovern’s injury this week was all the talk .....nothing to see here ...Gov was super today and looked fine ...we won 10 in a row this year ...smashed the tigers .....beat the pies easily on the mcg in round 17 .
WE DESERVED THIS ......WE EARNED IT THE HARD WAY

OUR NEW STADIIM will have a nice flag raising next season ..... that will be a special moment

Belter of a Grand Final.
The early run by Collingwood, the fightback from West Coast, the late 3rd and most of 4th quarter tustle between the 2 sides.

The perfect Grand Final to such a fantastic year.

Well done West Coast, thoroughly deserved! Enjoy the celebrations!! :thumbsu:

Great to see some of the long time players finally get there. LeCras and Hurn feel like they've been there forever, Schofield was my draft age year, Masten & Kennedy the phoenix from most terrible ashes. Rapt to see guys like these, who were at the club before the descent, grow into who they are today and finally taste glory. Shuey and Darling tasted their first club win in Round 1 2011, and the other 15 since.

I thought guys like Rioli and Barrass were massive today, we've really been lucky in finding these bargains who deliver you understated consistency, and they were some of our most consistent contributors throughout the game today.

Yup and the training ground we use also the same as mcg ...as in excatly the same .....

You play how you train ...simple

It seems obvious but more clubs should adopt this where possible, the GF is at the MCG for the foreseeable future, if this helps interstate sides play the ground better its surely a no-brainer

Thats all well and good for the GF, but if you play your H&A games on a ground that is 20 meters narrower, what does this do for your gameplan during the H&A season. The MCG is made for run and spread......not so sure Kadinia Park is.....??
