West Coast Eagles Priority Pick (2024)

You don't seem to understand the underlying principle that priority picks aren't to help a team win a flag, they're to stop a team being exceptionally uncompetitive and distorting the competition.

No it’s only given if afl wants you to win a flag apparently….

And given inequality in number of flags each team has, it has responsibility to ensure equity in the number, eliminate privileges and ensure diversity in flag winning.

Ok so the Eagles, North and us Bombers are getting some.......right?

North already got some….

I don’t think a 50% win record qualifies (sorry).

Plus you have too many flags already greedy bastards.

Last year was first time ever that a team that finished higher up the ladder got priority picks over team that finished lower.

I mean you can’t make this stuff up.

We are fkd but imagine trading away an 18 year old that can almost single-handedly make a rabble competitive against one of the leagues best teams and break tackles at will

He is going to be an excellent player. He could be the next Leigh Matthews and I would still think West Coast passed up a great opportunity to completely alter their direction.

They need another 10 promising young players, not one exceptional young player, to go with what they already have.

We'll have to agree to disagree then. And I couldn't disagree anymore strongly

Would've been one of the all time bad calls to trade it away with the reported offers we got

I agree that the reported offers weren't worth it, but I think they could have gotten significantly more out of Melbourne and it would have been worth it.

Yes, two kids in the 20s would alter West Coast’s direction much more than one special player who is shrugging off adults as an 18-year-old in his fourth game. Imagine if Richmond had Gerrick Weedon and Travis Colyer instead of Dustin Martin, think how many premierships that would have won instead of a lousy three.

I hope your team keeps going down its current path as it is one less team for everyone else to worry about.

You will have Harley Reid though, so everyone wins.
