Pity you can't understand context can you? How did Naitanui go against Collingwood as the number 1 ruck when Cox went down? Compare this to David Hille who has had a long career in the AFL and has held down a number 1 ruck spot for years now. Naitanui shows glimpses but is yet to show the consistency that Hille has. If their careers were both over right now who would be considered the better player? Is it really that hard to understand.

"Hille is a better player than Nic Nat, as of current." Naitanui is the best tap ruckman in the league and somebody saying Hille is even in his league, let alone better than him is a disgrace.

personally think even without a home final we'd be good to bump off the blues. although if they can come over here and knock us out then they probably deserve to. no mean feat to win over here, esp in a final so if they can do that then best of luck to them for the prelim.

hopefully the crowd is loud though because of late i have noticed some real pedestrian support at best - hear a damn pin drop.

i don't see us dropping this one, we are easily 2-3 goals better team at home.

also expect the following improvements:
- forward entries. very ordinary last week. performance of the collingwood backs was solid but overplayed, we kicked it down their throats all day.
- goal-kicking accuracy. squandered a couple of very gettable shots (shuey, kennedy)
- decision making. made a couple of dubious play-on decisions (one by priddis, the other maybe by nicoski maybe?) at pivotal moments, one which lead to three straight pies goals and really gave them some momentum.
- shuey to learn from speed and intensity of first final
- rested kerr IN to hopefully negate some of judd's effect

I just find it interesting that both team's late season form isn't really considered.

Maybe because there's a disparity in the quality of teams you played vs ours. Also the last game of the season our top 4 hopes were gone so we were effectively playing for nothing

why the navy and gold? just reminds me of when our glory day players were in decline.

this week's game needs more of the predominant yellow strip.

anyway even if we do wear the navy, surely carlton will wear their white strip?

My panties aren't in a twist.

I beg to differ. If you suggest that 4/5 is a bad form line for the hardest trip in footy then you've got rocks in your head. You can only play against who is in front of you. Not our fault you were terrible over those years (besides stealing Judd though i guess...woops).

You're being completely intolerant of other peoples' opinions on the matter. I'm sure the Carlton players know a fair bit more about playing Subi than you or i. I'd give their opinions a bit more attention.

May the best team win.

WCE website is saying we are wearing our home navy blue this week.

One would assume that Carlton won't be wearing navy blue too and will be forced to wear that cute little baby blue clash jumper. :D

Club has confirmed we are wearing our regular guernsey with white shorts.

You'll probably be wearing your lighter strip with blue shorts.

0/2 in away finals in recent time is a more telling stat. Actually when was the last time you won an away final? A decade at least.

Everyone beat freo and eagles a few years back at subi. Its nothing to hang your hat on.

I happen to think the following ruckman are better taps of the ball:

Jacobs, Mumford, Ottens

Natanui is a superior athlete who gains such an advantageous position that he is able to tap it almost uncontested, however in terms of the precision of his taps in contested situations I disagree. I think he is a great ruckmen who will end up being one of if not the best of the coming generation, but if Hille was in peak, uninjured form I would think that he would be a better ruckman.

Again an opinion

If they are that's a disgrace. Nothing to do with Carlton - I'd be pushing for that jumper too.

Our home jumper is a clear clash with you guys, if the AFL are serious about this and they let this happen then there "clash" argument is simple bullshit.

lol so if carlton are wearing their home jumper and we are wearing our home jumper thats another nice win for us. What is required against the press? Precise ball movement. So in the tightness of a final against a team that is recognised as being top 2-3 in the league at applying pressure you have a jumper clash...... If we wear our home jumper and carlton wear their home jumper that is a disgrace but could be to our advantage.

It's our home game we should be able to wear whatever we like and carlton should be forced to wear a non clashing jumper.

Surely finals is different, tradition and all, besides how the hell does that blue clash, its like Claremont vs East Perth.

What the hell is going on with this jumper situation? If West Coast have elected to wear the navy, gold & white strip as is our right as the home finalist surely that is the death knell for Carlton wearing their navy & white strip due to the obvious clash?! FWIW I would not be averse to us wearing all royal blue, but seems management have decided otherwise.

How have Eagles gone in last 3 finals? now that's a telling stat.....

I really don't understand why Eagles supporters are so annoyed that Carlton has had a pretty good record at Subi since 2008. Maybe because they know our players don't fear "the house of pain".... About 1/4 of our team is from WA and our captain has played a few games there too....

There will be a lot of Blues supporters there this week too. More so than H & A game.

Don't fear the ground, team or fans. We won't be playing for an honorable loss this week I can assure you.

I don't believe the same 'home game' rules apply in finals, they are generally considered to be neutral games and the only difference is where the game is actually staged. Not such a trivial difference

Yor right wear the original number.

In the big scheme of things I hope we wear our "real" jumper - the royal blue with wings and then you can wear the navy with white. If we choose to wear our home jumper, however, there is no way you can wear navy.

How do you explain St Kilda's abomination of a jumper in last year's 2 grand finals then? You can't tell me they wanted to wear that thing...

Could it be something to do with the AFL pandering to the whims of certain clubs...
