What Will Minson said to Kane Cornes

Cairns himself said he'd have gone into court to support the Aussies, claimed the rumour about being sledged for his sister's death was an absolute lie.

Steve Waugh said the only reason they didn't sue the journo responsible was because they didn't want to create a public media circus for Cairns and his family over such a tragedy.

So, can we please put that one to bed forever now?

Agree ...mike Sheehan is a knob who likes the sound his own voice way too much .....I've stopped watching open mike ......why because it's not about the person being interviewed it's a about mikes ego and and he does Not listen ...asks stupidly long questions that are statements not questions

Unbelievable.

I hope you have to endure what she has and show a fraction of the strength & class she has.

Disgusting.

What class does she have?

Minson made a mum joke to Danyle Pearce and she shrieked and shrieked to make it all about her.

The issue with the comment is the exaggeration that Minson made. Referring to Cornes' son as 'dying' when he's got a debilitating condition, but not 'dying' would be something that Cornes will never forgot. It's psychologically distressing. Everytime Cornes' son has a complication with his condition, Minson's comments would resurface in his mind.

Tough luck for Minson, he'll have to live with it. I don't feel sorry for him at all.
I know quite well about the psychological ramifications that comment may have caused. But I also know quite well that I'm not the arbiter of what is good or moral in this world. The man said something insensitive on a football field seven years ago, apologized profusely several times off his own bat, and the apology was accepted.
If you or the people in this thread feel the need to continue to perpetrate some sort of faux outrage in order to feel better about yourselves please just realise that nobody's impressed and that it says more about you as a person than Minson or Cornes.

yeah, when i saw this thread go up all i thought was how ridiculous it is that someone can make a mistake 7 years ago, cop it, apologise profusely only to have it thrown back in his face several times by the afflicted party and footy public.

Won't somebody think of the Minsons!

Cry me a river, you know how he could have avoided that shit thing he said being brought up years later?

Not saying it in the first place.

correct. Minson'll be right. Of course this is not mutually exclusive with moving forward, away from a horrible comment made from someone else. I know there's better things to do in my life than dwell on people being f***wits to me, and i'm sure the footy world and Kornesies would benefit from that attitude too.

I'm pretty sure she's making the point about out of line sledging, not herself.

Are you Lucy? read her comments in that article.

I'm done with having this discussion with you anyway, your comprehension isn't up to standard

Just to give this issue some proper context.
At the time of the sledge Cornes was busy mouthing off about Wil's brother Hugh (formerly Port listed) having no heart and being too soft for AFL football.
After the game, Wil sought out Cornes to apologise once after the siren and again the next day. Cornes had not complained and Wil had brought this up off his own bat.

Ah, thanks for that, I was wondering what Kane had said to prompt such a sick burn. I felt sorry for Kane Cornes. I do think it's bad to sledge people when the door to your soul is ajar, if Kane had said "your brother has a weak heart" and Will goes "just like your son", it would have been like ohhhh snappp at first but there would have been a strange silence afterwards. When you know you can put someone being mouthy in their place, which Big Willie Style did so effectively in this incident, do you take it? It's something we have to ask ourselves everyday and there isn't always the protective anonymity of an IMDB username to shield us from the tongue's bitter consequence.

Advice you should've heeded yourself and not pressed the "post reply" button. Now the stupid is out there for all to see.

There was nothing classy about her reaction to the Pearce situation. Not as classless as hoping someone has to endure having a seriously ill child though.

This. Some people don't understand the concept of double standards, even when they are applying them

Dog act. as if you would even go there. Cant stand Minson.. hate it how people think this dopey looking w..anker is intelligent.
Cant stand it when this flog is on the footy show.

Of course it would be hell, so what? Even more reason to be by his side. Imagine what his son would be going through, yet his Dad is off playing football instead of being by his side.

How would it all have gone down if his son actually died whilst Cornes was off playing footy?

Minson asked a bloody good question.
You stupid POS, you've obviously never had a child with a terrible disease die have you?
You therefore have zero idea of what your talking about, crawl back into the hole you came from and don't ever come out please.
PS: same applies to the fowl scum that liked your comment.

The Minson version of this story was that he knew the kid was in hospital, but didn't know how serious things were (no reference to "dying").

Not sure whether this version stacks up IMHO and family (especially kids) should be off-limits anyway.
