You 'beat' me in the arguement the same way a brick wall could claim to 'beat' someone in an arguement. Sheer density and completely ignoring facts presented.

Is the word 'facts' another term you don't really understand?

Heard a rumour we've asked VB if he wants to come back.
VB has done it perfectly, credit to him.

He did a development year with us to get started.

Progressed immediately to a good club and a more significant role. Has been there for a successful period.

He's one who's on the way up in his coaching career. Our coaches by comparison are all at the highest level they'll ever get to and wouldn't get an equivalent job anywhere else.

Part of me hopes VBs next step isn't with us as he's from the same era that we're seemingly stuck in. Would be better for him too to look elsewhere. Continue to expand his range of experiences.

However he'd be a step up from all our current coaches.

Rutten was too, knew he had to leave the bubble to get better. Hart did too, but he was found out pretty quickly.

I honestly think that's part of the problem though. We're so terrified of losing people and having to replace them we'll settle for guys because we know they'll stick around. It's why we always look for SA people cause we don't have to worry about them eventually wanting to go back to Melbourne or Perth or wherever.

Get Burton, he'll be here for life. Get Hart, he's the same, Campo won't ever leave with his business interests, Clarke as well.

Ok I see I'm going to have to simplify this even further.

5 people are in a room, each person has 2 balls in their hand. There are an additional 10 balls on a table in the middle of the room. 6 of those people put ONE of their balls onto the table.

Are there MORE balls in the room or the SAME amount?

there. is. no. increase. in. supply. there. is. a. reduction. in. demand.

In that analogy the total market size is 20 balls.

the available supply is now 16 balls up from 10 balls

Yes correct, but when using the supply vs demand model that is considered a reduction in demand causing a greater availability (or more accurately availability at a reduced price).

Supply in the supply vs demand model is talking about total supply, so could only be changed by adding or removing balls from the room.

Geez guys this is a football forum

All we should be concerned about is that the AFL supplied us with 12 matches of which we have demanded none of them!

Nope, try again. Supply is understood in the context of the marketplace (and the willingness/capacity of suppliers to provide the commodity). It's not a mere gross measure.

But there are the same number of suppliers 'coaches' willing to offer their commodity 'coaching'. The ONLY thing that has changed is the number of those suppliers that have had their supply taken up (employment). This is due to a reduced DEMAND (coaching positions at clubs).

The suppliers are individuals, who try to sell their labor for the highest price. The demanders of labor are businesses, which try to buy the type of labor they need at the lowest price. The equilibrium price for a certain type of labor is the wage rate.

from the link you didn't bother to read.

Didnt VB have some kind of science related masters? Geophysics or something along those lines? Obviously didnt want to pursue that after football
Can we get him to clarify this dumb debate about the difference between a reduction in demand and an increase in supply, for those amongst us who seem to be struggling.

Really our chance for a win is against the hawks at AO. Other than that I'm not sure where our first win comes from and to be honest does 2021 look any better?

I always thought we would win one but couldn't pick who it would be against. I agree looking at the draw I think the Hawks is our best chance.

The fact is on paper our team isn't that bad so we probably only need a Carlton or Collingwood to be off and things to go our way and who knows.

Slightly off topic but I think we have at least 14 possibly more players who would walk into the best 22 for at least one other club.

Our team isn't that bad, that's one of my main concerns with Nicksy.

It’s a simple as there will be some good (better than ours) coaches become available due the number of coaches in a job being reduced.

Ummm.....I don't think our record against the Hawks gives much hope of a win.

Since our win against them in Round 1 of 2011 we have had 1 win (Round 2 of 2017) and 10 losses - including 7 losses in a row and the last 3 losses in a row.

I am not betting on us to beat this mob at all.

I didn't say our record would help or that we are favourites just that at the moment they look our best chance.

I understand that but the Hawks have always been our bogey side since our epic win in Round 1 of 1991. 19 wins and 23 losses.
And we always seem to lose against them in really crunch games (15, 12, and 07 finals).
This will be a crunch game for us and I fear a similar result on the cards.

Clarko always has a little chuckle when he sees us as the next game on their fixture. Ever since they played a bit rough against us a few times, we've been shit scared of them. Betts vs Stratton never made for pretty viewing - probably the only defender he was timid against.

We've also clearly thrown in the towel for this year now. Will be ten goal floggings for the rest of the season.

We couldn't beat the Hawks at home when we were world beaters.
