Wood wants to be traded

Wood for #14 is not unrealistic. I can't see the Saints giving up their top 10 pick, especially as they need midfielders more than ruckmen, nor the Crows who want Ebert very badly.

And I just rang him up 5 minutes ago and he said he can't wait to get to the Adelaide Crows team so I reckon the bloke you talked to is Chuck E. Wood.
Prove it.

Your content to stay still and not change our current list is very worrying.
I'd go as far as to ignore him/her/it. There is something clearly not right there. I think it is one of the clowns on the site like Parrot indulging in a bit of the multiple personality disorder. Either way it's just NQR as Mr. Wisbey would say.

Who do you want to get? Who do you want to give up?

Rusling doesn't want to go to Brisbane.

Rusling is worth more than Wood who is no better than Richards.

If Wood played against Geelong in the Preliminary Final we would of lost by 5 goals.

Your ideas take the club backwards not forwards.

Plus Wood is going to Adelaide.

You really don't have any realistic ideas.

Not just this post in isolation but you have trend for defending and not wanting to add to clear weakness's.

Anyone would be better then Richards or Bryan who would not get a game in ANY other Afl side. Look at the past premiers all have had 2 very solid ruck options. Not a ruck and a tall man pretending he can play football.

Draft picks and the way we manage them i.e First round pick plus etc etc etc. I haven't mentioned Rusling once in the Wood trade. Wood = Richards now, But would has not had 7 years of AFL listed experince. He is a very solid young talent who i would bet my house on being at least an imporvement on Brychards which really isnt hard.

Adding strong potential youth is not taking the club backwards.

Here is what will take the club backwards ignoring obvious flaws in the list and assuming all our talent will blossom and make up for the fact that their a massive holes in our premiership puzzle.

Alternatively acting like we are contenders from now till 2010. If we manage to steal one early that is great but realistically our list will be at full strength in around 09-10 when the promising youngsters we have now have 5 years experince and around the 100 game mark and have AFL ready bodies. It's about the big picture and long term sucess.

Your making me think you have never actually watched Richards play... He's hopeless and soft, his only redeeming factor is by his mere presence his opposing ruckman has to tap it rather than grab it and handball it.

But Dale Thomas can do that also. That's not a valuable trait. Everytime Richards is in the vicinity of the play I am cringing because nearly invariably he will cough it up or somebody will run straight past it.

He has all the intimidation factor of a daffodil in the breeze and as a ruckman, he's not good enough for me. Not near it.

Wood >>> Richards.

And Wood will not cost Rusling. We don't need to give up a required player to snare Wood. It will take a 1st round and someone like Cox or Lonie. Not a great loss and +++ for Collingwood because we are crying for a ruckman who can cover Fraser with a degree of competency...

Hello Cameron Wood on the line...can I talk to the royal sampler....
Hey Cameron, please tell your friend Lizzie to go back to the Bulldogs board. Cheers. :thumbsu:

Perfect summation of what we have been suffering...

Richards, Fanning, cannot play football. Bryan can a little bit but he is far from a class AFL ruckman.

I'm sick of these "cardboard cutouts".

In AFL these days, all 18 players on the field MUST be good footballers.

No weak links.

We want quality not just anybody. That is how our ruck got that way in the first place.

Wood is not ready to go against Cox and Ottens so you are trading for potential. As you drafted for potential in the year we drafted Guy Richards.

So if you trade No 14 for Wood then you miss the opportunity to draft the best talent from this year for the ruck position.

You just can't get everyone. The system doesn't work like that.

You need remedial Draft and Trade 101.

Your analysis is so one dimensional, it is a piece of tissue paper.

You need further work to understand what the best option is. Again as I have said Wood doesn't want to come to Victoria.

You somehow expect everyone who is free to drop everything and sign with Collingwood as soon as we come callin. It doesn't work like that.

we should have drafted Chapman rather than Richards in that draft class.

That is the way to success, through drafting the best talent available. When you trade, you give up more than you get because other teams see you coming esp. the Pies.

Beside which Fraser will be a major part of the ruck next year and when Richards was second ruck rather than first ruck, he played a lot better.

Face it last year, we got a bad injury.

I still say draft at 14 for the best ruckman available. But ruckmen take time and that is why not many good ones leave the team they come from.

If you feel Wood is better than the best young talented ruckman who will be avaible at 14. Fine go after him and try and convince him that an Adelaide team without Hudson and Meehen is not as good an option as Collingwood. And that being in his home state with his parents and friends is no fun at all.

Game set and match The Royal Sampler

It is not a competition between Collingwood supporters, we are all here to discuss our own team and try and help it along.

So if you want to make it a my dick is bigger than your dick thing go over and rattle the cages at Carlton.

I am just not interested in insults, only facts.

I seriously don't understand you... You're female right? Skewed logic...

I like how whenever you point to something that Collingwood do wrong in your opinion, you say you did this, but when it's something good, you say we did this.

Your rapidly becoming a troll in my eyes, particularly with the WB tag...

Sure, everyone will agree, we can't get everyone, but we can get someone. :thumbsu:

Your dissing Richards like the rest of us, but then telling us we can't get someone better. When it seems to me 5-6 ruckmen are actively seeking new homes. But we can't get any of them right, because we are Collingwood?

Get real. Clubs don't want to get ripped off by Collingwood just as much as they don't want to get ripped off by anyone. But each clubs have superfluous stocks in certain positions and/or players who wish to make a change. That's what trade week is all about.

So we can and should offload players we can't see a home for, because that will be another clubs weakness so they will bite. Another clubs strength might be ruckman, and one might want a new home. Collingwood's weakness is rucks, so we will find one and give in return one of our unneeded stocks.

There's Trading 101. :thumbsu:

Trading 101 - No

Vegie Trading - Yes.

Trading 101 actually identifies targets and follows these targets to exhaustion.

Meehen has chosen the Western Bulldogs (exhausted)

Wood has chosed Adelaide (exhausted)

Jolly is still thinking about resigning with Sydney (watch)

Hudson linked to Melbourne (watch)

Now do either Jolly or Hudson measure up.

Hudson is only potential

Jolly has the credentials but would take the 14th pick probably

Do you want to give up your 14th pick for Jolly?

Malthouse has veto on this decision so probably unlikely.

This is how it works boys and girls.

By the way fella, don't slag off women. Most are smarter than any of you guys.

Wood hasn't chosen Adelaide at all, in fact he hasn't even confirmed he is moving.

It's likely he will move, but there is nothing to suggest he has nominated Adelaide as his preferred destination.

Hudson is only potential - Hudson is a proven talent who had a knee reco to recover and play 21 competent games this season.

Wood has chosed Adelaide (exhausted) - Are you serious? Where did this come from??? Meesen as well has no guarantees of going anywhere. Same as Judd technically...

We took Bryan last year so MM has his eyes open for a good ruckman.

I didn't slag off women, but I will slag off you.

Everyone is telling you your wrong, but your still right.

Case closed.

You can't write something like that whilst having Western Bulldogs showing as your club and expect people to take you seriously.

Case closed. Do you think because you say that in your little bedroom to your teddy bear and your barbie doll, it is closed.

I am agreeing with you, you mummas boy.

I am just saying it is not as easy as you make it out to be.

Maybe my mail is a bit more up to date than yours.

I seem to know what is going on behind the scenes a bit more readily than you.

oh well in a week you will come in and see these deals done and wonder why.

Hudson is a good ordinary player and nothing else. Cox and Ottens on the games they played on those days, would have killed him as much as they did Richards.

If malthouse has his eye on a good ruckman then why did he chose bryan. He just wanted any old cardboard cut out ruckman.

That is what got us into this problem in the first place.

I like the Bulldogs and the Pies and it is not a competition betwen people, it is just one opinion and we are here to share opinions.

I am agreeing in principle.

You are trying to tell me your opinion is right, so how is that any different?

I am only trying to open your eyes to how hard it is, to stop people here from complaining.

How is this possible? This is basically the equivalent of coming home to your husband, telling him you're in love with one of his co-workers, and then trying to discuss how to raise the kids.

You can't make your mind up, fine. But ffs don't go around saying "we" and "us" when Collingwood is your secondary team. You might as well say "we, the AFL".

Lets face it... we aren't immediately going to get a ruck with the talents of Cox or Ottens.

I will take Wood though as it is a no risk situation. We have no 2nd ruckman, as our current backups are not up to AFL standards.

Plus the fact of having Wood, Dick, Cox, Johnson and Goldsack in a team should be enough! :thumbsu::)
