I think he definitely needs to work on his tank. Noticed he seemed really reluctant to leave the centre square during general play, not sure if a fitness/work rate thing or instruction.
Ageed, McCrae's put on a bit of size on this year, seems to be labouring and lost a bit of toe

Poulter should get a go next week. He's playing well.

He showed a bit but unless we have injuries I don’t see him coming in.

DeGoey and Adams should be back next week as should Roughead and probably Kreuger. That’s 4 changes which is probably enough without adding Poulter.

He’s shown to me though that he’s ready to step up should the opportunity come.

Well that was a win but it was less convincing than the struggle last week. Prior to his injury, Johnson was somewhat short of last week's performance and I couldn't see a senior role in his immediate future. I thought Kelly was particularly off today while Tyler Brown showed that he has got a bit.

Macrae will be fine cause you can see the talent when he gets involved. Just needs too do what he does in the second half of games more consistently through out matches. I wonder if it is a tank issue cause sometimes he seems spent.
Definitely a fitness thing, we saw it last year as well. It’s a shame he hasn’t improved that aspect over the preseason.

Until he proves himself a better option than Daicos or Sidebottom on a wing he’ll have to bide his time. There’s no rush.

Hellish for Ash Johnson. From the verge of selection to rehab. Poor bastard.

I've never enjoyed a moment where I believed Will Kelly would become a handy AFL player, let alone a good one. I hope he taps into some Hollywood-style redemption and proves me wrong.

I'm a paid up member of the Poulter Fan Club. He's got plenty to work on, but so much to work with.

Great to see the team go 3-0.

Why couldn’t Sidebottom play on ball or forward?
Why would you shift your best wingman to a different position in order to play an inferior player there?

Development, Poulter gave us very good contributions last year. There is no reason to think he couldn’t again. Sidey In his current form will make equally good contributions all over the ground.

Positive is we can chuck AJ on the LTI List and take someone in the midseason draft?

I’m unsure about the rules. Does that mean AJ can’t play for the rest of the year?
I believe the only way we could pick up a player in that draft is if we write someone off for the rest of the year with a long-term injury (or someone retires), since we don't currently have a free list spot. I don't think the long-term injury players are allowed to play again (that season) once that move is made. I'm hoping Johnson's injury isn't a season-ending one!

Poulter can develop in the VFL. Until he picks up the pace of the game enough that he’s not constantly getting run down in the VFL, he has no place in the AFL team while there are better options available in his position.

Nah, the only in the AFL. I think from 40 meters out.
Against Adelaide at Adelaide Oval? That was mid to late in the third though to get us back in touch or in the lead, Bianco kicked one just before or after. Elliott kicked the winner in that game.

There‘s a fair chance I have the wrong game in mind though.

No, you've got the right one!: AFL Tables - Caleb Poulter - Stats - Statistics
He kicked 2 goals last year, the first was against Port (MCG) right at the end of a game we lost by just 1 point:

The other was against Adelaide (Adelaide Oval), and came late(ish) in the third quarter. We then trailed by just 2 points, and went on to win by 5 points:

Elliott kicked what turned out to be the winning goal:

Poulter kicks this from a bit over 50 metres out and almost straight in front (it's about 5 minutes 30 seconds in). It was a terrific goal:
