Thankfully I didn't waste my time or fuel going to this crapfest.

It's going to be a long season for the club with the VFL team seemingly bereft of any talent.

We haven’t missed a target…if that target happens to be wearing Orange…

V impressed w Murley today. One of the smallest out there and he continues to present and get possessions

HH has shown flashes of special skills…flashes

Arlo forced to play on a guy a foot and half taller / 20 kilos heavier than him

Lol. They were great the first 3 rounds. Just having a stinker today. Plus a few injuries in the VFL and AFL doesn't help the depth at VFL level.

Does anyone else worry about our supposed young talent? In 2020 the club trumpeted the fact that we had six picks in the top 30 in the draft, yet so far only one player from that draft(McInnes) looks like he’s going to make it.And he was an academy player not a draft pick,so a free hit there. And yet people still believe in the myth that Hine is a good spotter of talent?Bizarre.

Not in the slightest. Been barely 12months and interrupted footy last year.

Wow, l mean they have won 3 out of 3, prior to this game. The young talent was looking pretty good then!!

I’m critical today but in all fairness the side doesn’t allow the kids to show their talent
Normally a few senior / seasoned players do the grunt work and allow the developing players to do their part

Yeah I agree with this. I think Murley and HH are both extremely underrated prospects. Murley should be called Merlin because he dances around the ground and HH hopefully turns into a Dane Swan type. Recruited with a pick no one cares about, turns into a star.

He’s the one you picked for discussion re fumbling?
No. But as I said, I have had high expectations for him and seeing him fumble under no pressure is a concern. On top of that, I haven’t actually seen him do much in games.

Obviously I’m hoping he improves. No need to be so dramatic.

Yep - and we need to give some players a couple years to hone these skills that they’ve shown us they have
A few times today I actually thought “wow” that was pretty special under the pressure / circumstance

Boys against men at the moment
We don’t have a seasoned player to impose themselves

Hmm in some spots yes but many other spots the age profile would be similar.

I think that's a bit of a cop out, a lot of our boys don't have the taste for physical side of the game.
We also have a lot of vanilla ish types who can be very non descript in ball use and sort of plod along.

Macrae lifted that q but still gets caught ball watching at stoppages hangs off the pack and is not a natural first dibs type.

T.Brown had much better showing that quarter actually did some stuff that impressed. But is inconsistent and needs to clean up his kicking. Had good hands and some first grab clearances at stages in the 2nd. Too skinny to do it at afl level.

Wish they would throw the magnets around a bit.

Move McMahon fwd, we need some height and an option to kick to seems to have good speed and a decent kick. Getting towelled in Def as his positioning is awful and too skinny to outbody GWS talls.

Starting mid of Draper, Poulter and T.Brown. Draper has some real toe and physical traits put him inbthe action see what he can do, poulter can get on the outside of Browns inside game.

Move ruscoe to wing and tell him to run the lines.

I would think the time put into the 2 Irish guys has screwed us with them leaving. A couple of years development holding down key positions and they walk out at the same time obviously leaves a huge whole.

So Henry, Macrae, Poulter all useless and got no talent. Think we have to cool the jets on writing these young guys off. They have all showed they can play at AFL level, and will be doing so for many years to come. Also McCreery was in the 2020 draft, and he looks pretty good.
I agree that McInnes looks to be a very good talent, but he to will have his inconsistency in form, and may well be playing more VFL footy as the season goes on as well.
Its all about developing these young guys, and working on their weaknesses and getting them prepared physically to be regular AFL footballers.....Be Patient!!!

I’d go with this, too
