Respect
/rɪˈspɛkt/

verb

1. Taking a dump on a long-standing Club captaincy tradition for zero gain apart from whatever your ego got out of it

2. Throwing tea over your shoulder at a Chinese tea ceremony, in China, because it’s not a fizzy drink ARE YOU A F@&KING CHILD?!

fu**head Kane literally just said that Ken turned the club around single handedly.

Sack Kane.
Sack Koch.
Sack Ken.
Sack Keith.
Sack farken every campaigner who's name starts with K.

Ken hasn't turned us into a basket case on his own - he's definitely had help. Not sure if he deserves our thanks for it though.

McClure the only one making sense.

Respect? fu** off. He doesn't deserve anything. Coaches have been sacked mid season since Joseph was coaching Jerusalem. He isn't special. He's the opposite of special. Respect? fu** me.
Where do I find some of this $800,000 a year work, that you don't need to perform, have a solid record of failure, be allowed the opportunity to hold the club to ransom to get a contract extension, and get respected for it, please tell me

With all due respect Ken, you’ve done a lot for this club, however in almost 10 years we haven’t made it to a GF.
It is time for a change…..your services are no longer required.

Respectful enough?

As I used to say to my ‘superior’ officers.

‘With all due respect sir, piss off and let someone capable do the job.’

Ken’s favourite goto line when we lose is that the players need to work harder. Of course he doesn’t mention poor tactics, poor selections and poor match-ups because that’s a reflection on him.

Hinkley thinks that supporters will fall for the line that the lack of enough effort somehow absolves him of blame. But it doesn’t. It says that the players have stopped listening and that’s on him

Just a quick google of the "Respect" Kane Cornes gave Don Pyke, a guy that atleast got the Crows to a Grand Final.

Personal gripes aside, it’s not really a matter of respect if it’s done right, as soon as they know he isn’t there next year he should be moved on, that’s just ‘business’, it would be called moving forward and getting on with it.

To me the look on Ken’s face in the coaches box in the first half was a face of a bloke who knows his time is done.

We will start winning a few games, nothing will be done until the end of the year.

Clarko - I think he’d be at least worth a chat too, let’s go get a proven coach, leave as little to chance as possible.

I’m not buying the Voss, Mitchell rubbish, it’s very early on in their careers and we know how we played in 13/14.

The minute Ken is sacked it will take all off about 2 or 3 days for everyone to forget about him and move forward, Hawthorn made a terrible decision to get rid of clarkson who had 2 attempts to try and get the team back playing finals but couldnt? Just move on people, Ken isnt Clarkson's shoe lace.

Was gonna post similar. Let's not even start on the attack campaign he has run against Adam Treloar, Chayce Jones, David Teague, Connor Rozee, Brendan Bolton, honestly if anybody wanted to research they could probably add another 30 names to this list.

The most disrespectful attack dog in AFL media.

Enough of the "saved the Club" line.

If we don't act soon, he's going to leave the Club in the same condition it was when he arrived.
He "saved the club" by happening to work there while Darren Burgess was there and got us from 12th to 6th with his fitness program.

I wish Kane would be specific about all this apparent disrespect thats going on.
What about the disrespect shown by the current administration to Port's historical values - stuff like appointing co captains etc?

They're jumping to an emotive argument, because the logical arguments are all worn out.

But okay. Let's say it is disrespectful to Ken Hinkley to sack him in the middle of a contract. Let's assume for a moment that that statement is entirely and incontrovertibly correct. So what? We're a professional sporting organisation. Why should showing respect to Ken Hinkley be a higher priority than bringing in the best coach available as early as possible in the pursuit of winning premierships?

Maybe it is disrespectful. I don't care. Do it anyway. Don't do it maliciously or unprofessionally, but do it. And do it quickly.
The bit that shits me with Kane and the whole work harder bullshit is it's a professional sport. There's no room for sentiment in it, if you stand still to clap someone off and say goodbye you get left behind. Ala 2015 when we carried Kane to 300 games so he could then become a fire fighter. As Chris Scott said effort isn't asked for by a legitimate coach, it's expected as it's a professional sport. I'd the coach has to ask for effort he has a problem.

Kane and co have forgotten Ken himself said this year we were after a Premiership in March. We now sit 0-5 after what happened to end last season. The "wolves" as they say are there cause Ken has underperformed as coach this year, plain & simple. He's had 9 years into his 10th and his run is over. It's as simple as that.

Us fans can all see it, we spotted it 20 mins into the first quarter on our fateful night last year. Kane himself said it was a Grand Final or bust for Ken this year, now has changed his tune cause Ken asked him to stop being mean basically.

The fans are fed up cause we all knew what was coming this season. We've seen it before under Ken, and in 2008 when the club acted exactly the same post a massive finals loss.

That's not disrespectful, that's reality. Unfortunately for us fans, we're the only ones that can see it. The club either can't or won't, and Kane and his mates live in this world where effort should be rewarded and lauded, when in elite sport it shouldn't be.

Hamish Hartlett was piss weak on radio regarding Ken on the weekend.

"Kenny's a mate of mine and I won't speculate on his future"

Jeezus Warren get the jab & get back on air you were the only one with a spine.

Kane's delusions aside, both he and Caro hinting that he won't be here behind this season has to mean something.

Especially Caro's comments about how Ken's 2023 extension doesn't mean much and should be behind a performance clause. And we know Caro's Port sources is directly from a board member.

Yeah he’s gonski and it will go away after a couple of wins. It’s why he looked lost in the box with a funny expression during the first half, he knows what’s coming.

I’m guessing once we can’t make finals he will walk - mutually.

Clarko will help us keep players if we can get him, Rozee and Butters only signed for two, maybe they aren’t Ken bots.

The club needs to start thinking of the club now, not Ken so much, we need to look forward.
