That’s fair enough but atm he’s in horrible form and has been for the best part of 2 years and hasn’t been held to account. Match committee have a lot to answer for.
The match committee makes me sick sometimes.

If players are horribly out of form, play and develop the kids who have something to offer more than 2 handballs in a game.

TWO HANDBALLS.

I'm sick and tired of it.

The match committee makes me sick sometimes? Haha, you must have a sensitive stomach.

You do remember what the match committee delivered over the last few years right? You are the luckiest bloke in history to have been around to witness that. Give them the credibility they have earned. The game plan, structure, role players (#11) revolutionised the game. Everyone is copying us.

I find George frustrating to watch also, at times, because I grew up in a “kicks, marks, handballs, goals” era and he certainly doesn’t fit into any of those criteria. But at the game I do notice his contested work, his unrewarded running patterns, doesn’t get out marked, etc (cue the abuse).

He might get dropped, would love to see Stack last more than 10 mins doing the work George does.

The 'unrewarded running patterns'?

Does he try to make intricate shapes to upload from his GPS tracker? Coz he sure as heck isn't doing much else.

Nobody hates him. We just want the best 22 in the team. We follow Richmond FC not Castagna FC.

Nothing is stopping you admiring his previous performances from years gone by but you won't stop others being rightly critical of his current form.

If you find that disrespectful then that's on you.

I can explain it for you but I can't understand it for you.
Well the great Royce Hart played in 4 premierships. Even at his age and health issues I’d bet he could get more touches than George.
I doubt whether he’d do “the running patterns” George does, but he wouldn’t have to. He’d get the ball.

Maybe there’s a method to George’s “running patterns”. It’s to keep him away from where the ball is.

Castagna is a three time premiership player ( that's right THREE!) and deserves ALOT more respect than he gets on the thread. He chases like his life depends on it (which is more than 95% of players) and brings X factor and unpredictability which works to our advantage. He's not perfect but deserves a lot more respect than he is getting here. He played a key role over the premiership years that bought us all so much joy so I don't understand all the hate. Very very rough on him I think. Go Jase, I love you mate!!
That was then. This is now. His lack of basic skills and football nous are more on show than when his teammates covered his shortcomings. The game has changed. George is redundant.

Even Richo highlighted one last week when he made a number of leads to create a massive hole for JR to lead into. Open your eyes.

Maybe open your eyes. There are multiple unrewarded leads every time we kick the ball into f50. If you don’t know why Richo singled out the one Castagna did you’re beyond help.

Just got the latest "running patterns" from Castagnas training run.

Perhaps he has been told he's dropped and has a trade on his mind?

Hahaha if the guy had any confidence in George he would have kicked it to him. Instead he kicked it to Jack in a more difficult situation and only Jack’s class he was able to hold a tough contested mark.

No chance he survives. Has anyone in the history of the sport played the following week after playing one of the all time stinkers?

Can’t think of a worse game TBH.

He could’ve been dropped 2 years ago, 1 year ago, 3 years ago for the same reasons.
He’s not playing much differently now than he always has.
SO there must be something that keeps him in. No one on here seems to have any idea, me included, although I do try to find the answer. Others don’t.
What I do know is that Hardwick has won us 3 flags. He keeps picking him and instructing George what to do. So until Hardwick drops him I’m happy to stay on the fence.
Heaps of posters have been potting George for years. They’ve been wrong and do not know why he gets picked.
If he gets dropped this week it’s for failing to achieve Hardwick‘s KPIs, not because of anything I’ve read on here.
