amon sure has a knack of turning it over :/

looks good otherwise

He got lots of it but was much messier than usual. He's usually a good finisher and a good kick. Was pretty flat footed too.

Second best for them for mine. Marshall best.

Marshall looks unbelievable. I thought he was going to be a spud, they persisted for a long time for not much result but this year he looks like a really good mobile tall forward finally. Holds his marks and converts.

Amon maybe

Brayshaw yes

Dale no

De goey not a fan but I understand his appeal

Shuey would be Hanners 2.0 with his soft tissue injuries

Lloyd is an interesting one. Is he out of contract?

Sam Taylor i want

Lloyd is a FA, we had a hard on for him a few years ago. He gets huge numbers but is having a shit year. I think he's had to adjust to kids playing along side him and he's struggling a bit, still crazy numbers for a HBF though.

SAINTS DEFENDER SET TO EXTEND STAY

St Kilda defender Ben Paton’s successful return from last year’s gruesome double leg break is set to be rewarded with a new contract.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a career-best 2020 campaign, including playing in both of the Saints’ finals, but missed all of last season after breaking the fibula and tibia in his left leg in an intraclub match.

Paton was back in Brett Ratten’s team in round 1 and hasn’t missed a match, averaging a personal-high 15 disposals and five intercept possessions.

Negotiations are progressing well for the 46-gamer to remain a Saint beyond this year.

Lock him in for three or more years please. Pivotal part of our future.

Except that one that really mattered but yes kicks excellently for goal.

That was a proper shank. he usually looks like Sharman where you back him to convert anything he marks.

People think that but averages less than half a goal a game.

Pretty good for a mid though. Stats this year of mids averaging as many goals as Taranto:

Neale 32.0 and 0.75 goals
J Kelly 29.1 and 0.55 goals
Petracca 28.2 and 0.75 goals
Cripps 27.5 and 1.50 goals
Treloar 27.3 and 0.92 goals
Taranto 26.8 and 0.56 goals
Green 26.0 and 0.73 goals
Dunkley 25.7 and 0.83 goals
Lipinski 25.0 and 0.58 goals
M Kennedy 24.9 and 0.56 goals
Gresham 24.5 and 1.00 goals
Simpkin 24.3 and 0.55 goals
Dawson 24.0 and 0.58 goals
Parker 23.3 and 0.92 goals

Pretty solid company at the top of that list.

He is but not many of those below would be classed as goal kicking mids which was what I responded to. Some above him wouldn’t either. He is mainly a very good mid which isn’t an issue but he isn’t a goal kicking mid.

Petracca is a goal kicking mid and his numbers aren't much different, Gresham and Cripps are the only ones going at over 1 goal a game. Obviously the stats don't show the full picture once again.

I'd call Taranto is a midfielder who can play forward rather than a goal kicking midfielder.

Most of his goals have come from him playing as a forward when Greene was out rather than him kicking them when starting in the middle.

Petracca was a forward mid. Now he is a full time mid. The conversation was more about where they rest not how many goals they kick as a mid. When you have Steele Ross and crouch you need a Gresham type who can spend long periods forward. Not sure Taranto does that in the afl. He may have as a junior. Also those stats are over just 9 games. Not sure that is anywhere near a big enough sample. His career sample is .43 and early he would have been more forward than mid.

I agree but we probably want that. Have him play up forward when not on ball.

They still rest him forward at times.
