I can see how this plays out.

Port miss finals but demolish Adelaide in Round 23.

The season that was is going to be lost based on one game because Kochie and the happy clappers get off on the mediocrity of being the best club in the state.

Rucci also said (after last week's win over Sydney) Hinkley is coaching the best he's ever coached in his tenure. Too bad he didn't pull out a 'top of his game' coaching performance in last year's prelim.
If the club wants to offload the last year of Hinkley's contract to another suitor they need to make him look as attractive as they possibly can. It's a delicate balancing act of moving him out the door as gently as possible whilst talking up his abilities.

Port Adelaide $4

This would have been a 50-1 proposition at the start of the year, yet Port’s jaw-dropping, winless start to 2022 means the spotlight is now firmly on Ken Hinkley who’s largely excellent tenure at Alberton looks to have run its course.

Crucially Port Adelaide could opt to part ways with Ken at a perfect time considering this list is absolutely in win-now mode and would make perfect sense for a coach like Clarkson. What’s desperately needed at Port is a significant tactical pivot, the likes of which Hinkley either doesn’t seem capable of implementing, or which his players aren’t listening to. And there are few more tactically astute coaches than Clarkson who'd immediately get the Power back in premiership contention, and owing to the club introducing 9 top-30 picks over the last five drafts, he'd likely be able to keep them there too.
This is a spot on appraisal. These people who deal in betting markets don't generally just throw darts at the board either. They'd surely accumulate their bits o and pieces of info they receive.

Ugg. Around for more time and will feel vindicated playing no Rucks, despite it clear we’d have won by a heap more if we’d played one.
How much easier would have that game been if we'd played a ruck?

Instead we're hanging on by our fingernails with a minute to go and despite probably being the worst team in the AFL at killing the clock we win.

Another unconvincing win brought to you by the brilliant mind of Kenny Hinkley.

Need to play a ruck because Finlayson and Dixon aren't going to cut it against better teams. Boggles the mind that Hinkley believes the ruck doesn't actually have much of an affect and that what most matters is when the ball hits the ground AFTER the ruck contest rather than the contest itself.

You would have thought he of all people would have learned the results you get with a makeshift ruck from 2016.
