Some signs today there is some real pressure on him.

  • Richo acknowledging we haven't been good enough, (though I am nervous they'll use these close game losses as spin that we're almost there) and not specifically backing Ken.
  • Ken was visibly fuming in the presser when asked about the "Sack Hinkley" sign

He's coaching for his future now, no doubt about it. Losses to Collingwood and Richmond and I think that's all she wrote...

BRING BACK MOTLOP

so Ken's not happy with some of the fans.

Well Ken there's only one thing you can do, leave that will show them you won't be treated like that, won't they feel bad and guilty that you were so upset that leaving was your only option🙏

Dear members and supporters,

The 2022 AFL season results have been a long way from our expectations.

There is no hiding from that.

After starting 0-5 we have shown resilience winning eight of our last 13 games but clearly being close enough in some of these games is not good enough. Losing seven games by under 14 points this season just highlights this fact.

The reality is we have put ourselves in this position and haven’t been good enough to win the games we have needed to win, including against the best teams in 2022 – Geelong, Melbourne, Brisbane and Fremantle.

We have four games remaining in the home and away season, and how we finish is really important.

We have great belief in our playing list and our people, but the facts are we have to be better when it matters, in those close games and against the best teams.

No mention of kern in todays offering from Richo
There is still hope

SACK HINKLEY

*sorry if this is late
If I was senior coach and wanted to continue in the job, I wouldn’t be happy with that letter.

I think it's over now. No matter how incompetent our board might be there is no way they'd consider moving him on without a new man lined up. I think they have a new man lined up.

Collingwood - 86,641 - avg. attendance 49,359 (56.9%)
Brisbane - 40,973 - avg. attendance 24,535 (59.8%)
Richmond - 99,213 - avg. attendance 45,882 (46.2%)
Sydney - 51,642 - avg. attendance 27,454 (53.2%)
Melbourne - 62,813 - avg. attendance 33,899 (54%)
Carlton - 84,769 - avg. attendance 45,934 (54.2%)
Fremantle - 53,549 - avg. attendance 38,325 (71.6%)
Geelong - 66,048 - avg. attendance 28,979 (43.9%)
Western Bulldogs - 49,953 - avg. attendance 25,419 (50.9%)

Port Adelaide - 60,000 - avg. attendance (with two high profile home games to go against Richmond and Adelaide) - 27,716 (46.2%)

If we were having a good season we'd see crowds around 31k. So it's basically exactly the same as any other club in the AFL that is in the top nine, with the exception of Fremantle.
The Hinkley effect I would suspect.

Interesting to go back to when the anti-Hinkley sentiment began and the history of the hashtag #sackhinkley

The thread here seems a starting point.

Rolling into the now historical part 1:

Doctor Feel, PeacefulWarrior, Schulzenfest & El_Scorcho with some of the earliest legitimate usage of the #sackhinkley hashtag, back in 15 and 16.

Alyx jumping aboard in 17, before a host of others around the time of the Crows massive 84 point belting of us.

Looks like my first hashtag was in 2018.

He said he didn't see it... He drives the other way... So somebody needs to put it up what ever way he goes to work...
He drives to work backwards?

Why am I not surprised.
