The issue is the DE stat is flawed and people will be better off judging with their own eyes. When his DE was brought up after the game, I couldn't believe it, so I checked out all his disposals and shook my head after. So you have counted his soccer kicks.. the two full games he played he had the worst de on the ground. You can say it's a s**t stat or whatever but regardless he was the worst at that stat. No one is saying he won't be a great player but the people that jump all over our recruiting team here are so exhausting. Be somewhat subjective in your opinion. Admit when they do good and call out their s**t calls
Also re the mid season draft, perhaps with list spots tight we didn't want an extra player to add as it would mean letting go of nankervis/ newchurch / borlase. Or maybe we would rather pick an 18 year old in the draft
(Sorry to go on a rant -not directed at you Smart Fella )
Looks like i was on the money .Amon will get 600k x 4 or 5 years and the cost will equate to a mid 2nd rounder .
His 2022 form has been ok compared to 2 very good seasons previous .
Hawks look set and the G will suit his game running the left wing .
It’s flawed but when you look at it in the context of their other stats and position it has some merit. The issue is the DE stat is flawed and people will be better off judging with their own eyes. Brodie Smith's first kick against Sydney was poor but Soligo cleans it up yet counts as effective due to Soligo. But as you said, WW was correct that he pointed out a correct stat according to the AFL. Will word different in future as I understand where you're coming from.

Yeah I think what you've analysed & interpreted makes sense. Always appreciate when people delve a bit deeper to try break things like this.Yep, again I’m not saying it’s the only way to do it, but it is a common theory and it has been shown to work on multiple occasions so if that is Nicks’ method I don’t have a problem with it.
Hang on, wasn't brad crouch getting 4 years at $650k with the saints?. That got us band 3 so amon should be no different unless the money is greater than that reportLooks like i was on the money .
And what round pick did that get us ??Hang on, wasn't brad crouch getting 4 years at $650k with the saints?. That got us band 3 so amon should be no different unless the money is greater than that report
Sound logic. I'll add on to that because the Crows should have selected him from a list management POV purely on potential upside. And others have made a point that we could have picked both him and Turner. It’s flawed but when you look at it in the context of their other stats and position it has some merit.
E.g. Neale has a kick efficiency of 60.1% which seems poor, however when you consider his contested possession rate is 51.7% and other similar players Cripps, Oliver, Petracca, Laird are operating in the 50s you’d say it’s pretty good.
a 20's pick so any talk of port getting and end of 1st round should be batted awayAnd what round pick did that get us ??
Yeah there’s also the fact that 23 kicks is a pretty small sample size so a low percentage could be a coincidence.Sound logic. Carmichael is an anomaly due to a third of his total kicks being soccered. Eleven of his 23 field kicks were effective according to CD. Has scored 3 goals 3 behinds and a goal assist (which was an excellent kick). I care about field kicking, which is 48% and hitting the scoreboard.

I wrote 2nd round and you responded wrongly ... maybe get it right before you reply .a 20's pick so any talk of port getting and end of 1st round should be batted away
I think there was some confusion here. I was referring to the attached article where they were quoting Amon at $650K and it being an end of 1st round pick. I was not teeing off at your postI wrote 2nd round and you responded wrongly ... maybe get it right before you reply .

As long as we have a planThis off-season is pretty simple.
We just need to bring in JHF, Rankine, Phillipou, Michaelanney and a young ruck.
Rebuild on track, top 8 in 2023 - easy peasy.
And a capable coachAs long as we have a plan
I’m impartial to tell you the truth, I don’t know if he can coach or not because we have a lot of young players and some out Of from. He can be blamed for team selection though, he has given the young players a go but also giving poor performing players to long like Murphy, crouch and Rowe. Also he brings them back either without playing a game or after a poor game. And a capable coach
Allowing loose defenders to rack up 40 possessions, poor coachingI’m impartial to tell you the truth, I don’t know if he can coach or not because we have a lot of young players and some out Of from. I’d let him coach out his contract before we decided anything. If we get those players in and he’s still poor!! Then hes done
Not good but im happy to give him next year before we sack himAllowing loose defenders to rack up 40 possessions, poor coaching
I doubt we get Rankine, purely gut feel but the manager hating us stuff worries me a lot too.
What are people’s thoughts on Jacob Edwards from North? He was highly rated at the mid season draft from memory and North have a heap of ruck/forwards with Xerri, CCJ and Comben, would he be worth involving in those hypothetical JHF negotiations?
I think we need to get a ruck who can play forward, Thilthorpe needs a 50/50 split over the next couple of years as he develops IMO, and I think we look a better team at times when he rucks, but I can’t see ROB or Strachan working in our forward line.

If your theory was correct then it’s an even bigger mistake, but I do think makes sense.lmao. What's your theory? Just pure incompetence? I guess that is AFC drafting's MO
I don't watch ressie's but it sounds like every man and his dog rated Carmichael higher than Turner.
Manger hating us means nothingI doubt we get Rankine, purely gut feel but the manager hating us stuff worries me a lot too.

The only thing that makes sense to me is he has a good offer from at least one SA club. From there, his manager is trying to get more out of Gold Coast and the longer it goes, the more pressure on GC to increase.Interesting that Rankine has not re-signed with GC and Essendon have also moved their attention to other small forward prospects
The bombers either believe he is staying or moving elsewhere, if he is staying why is he yet to sign with GC?
