Just shows how useless and overrated minor premierships are.
Well yeah, in a competition as uneven and inequitable as the AFL, where there are "soft" draws and "hard" draws depending on who you are and your finishing position the previous year, a minor premiership is pretty meaningless. Remember who it was last year who said "Don't judge us on what we do now, judge us on what we do in finals" when questioned about the low calibre of teams his side had notched upi its wins against.....That was just before he went into hiding when people wanted, rightly, to judge him on what he did in finals.

The club posted just three tweets during his press conference: Two dedicated to the usual excuses, and one dedicated to Rozee's knee. Normally they number a dozen or so.

Were journalists asking questions that they didn't want to report his answers to? I can't imagine why else they would be so short on content.

Cause nobody cares

If we are seriously in a position where we are too broke to be able to sack a coach on 500-800k a year with one year (pretty sure it’s only six months now and that he took a pay cut) then what have the AFL approved and picked board been doing for the past decade? And why was there no finals or performance clause - a basic and standard thing in almost all sporting contrasts? And if our board is actually being dictated too and our finances are so dire we can’t avoid the few hundred thousand, then fold the club and be done with it. Move us to Tasmania.

In our case it's meaningless because in minor round games, the pressure level is ... minor round.

As soon as ACTUAL finals pressure is applied, our lack of game plan and forward structure and plan are exposed massively.

What we all need to be asking is how do we have such a terrible stadium deal that we can’t pay debt off much faster to leave us hanging in this very average situation.

Hawthorn and Nth Melb ‘no problem’.

If our financial guru can’t sort it out then get out.
Adelaide Oval is losing sh!t loads supposedly,as are the clubs, where's the money going

Agreed.

We couldn't even replace two senior assistants last year with someone qualified

I've said it a few times recently when Koch was asked earlier in the year if we could pay out the coach he said yes, it's only lack of balls that will stop it.

So he took a pay cut, you don’t think he’d want that paid out ?

We can and must sack him even purely for financial reasons.

Even if he's on $800,000 and we have to pay all of it, that's what, 2500 memberships?

With those that have already dropped off, those that will drop off, and the surrounding lack of merch, food and drink and other associated income, it'll cost us a lot more to keep him.

I can't drop my membership because my seats are too good and I'll still be in them when Koch and Hinkley are in their cold, cold graves, but I certainly won't be attending another game after the showdown if Hinkley is still here.

Can’t sack our coach
Can’t wear prison bars
Can’t have a top up player
Can’t wear our home guernsey in a home final
Can’t have a recruiting zone
Can’t have the Gameday Village
Can’t train at Alberton
Can’t have Borlace
Can’t have our history

I still think he'll be here next year. It will be 2019 mark II. They'll do their little review and tick him off for next year.
Then get ready for constant sub 20k crowds - I certainly won't be attending any games.

Posters close to the club and maybe better at reading the tea leaves have got old mate out the door. For myself i'll believe it when it happens.

For all my anger over the years towards Ken and some pretty nasty posts, if he's as good as gone then relief will be my strongest feeling.

I won't be dancing on his grave i'll just be glad the club has called time. The other thing i'll do is start going to games again.

I want some wind in my sails, calmer waters and new horizons because as of right now, without change stamp my papers and check me out.
I'll be opening a bottle of champs
