List Mgmt. 2022 Trade & List Management Thread

lol we literally break down at half forward more than anywhere else on the field and cant keep the ball in the forward 50, and some are saying we don't need anyone who can improve that.

We need to trade for or draft/develop an extra player who:

- provides good repeat leads all day based on great endurance and smarts

- averages 5 marks a game and consistently stick a mark on the lead

- provides serviceable entry by foot or the smarts to find a running player by hand

- can win more 50/50s than lose them

- can kick the odd goal (average 1 a game).

- provides a genuine threat so that Larkey isn’t double and triple teamed.

That is what we are missing. This player doesn’t need to be a world beater to fix our woeful HF black hole. Zurhaar doesn’t fill this as he generally plays closer to goal. We need Larkey closer to goal because we have no one else to take the final kick.

If I was list manager, drafting Cadman and someone like Keeler/Munkara/Jefferson to go with Comben to learn from a FA acquisition like Gunston would be perfect.

It isn't a straw man. I don't care if you have been saying for years or not, the past can't be changed. I am saying put yourself into the list management position and Clarko is coming to you and saying, dude, we can't go with just Larkey again next year, he needs some help. What options do we have given AFL haven't said what assistance they are giving us and we obviously aren't going to trade our pick 1. Saying you thought we should do something years ago doesn't help me for next year. Assuming we get dicked by the AFL, we need some kind of strategy as a worst possible alternative for next year. What have you got?

Because this is the hand we have. We can't go with just Larkey next year, so what better alternative do we have? It isn't a rhetorical question, I am hoping someone has a better option other than someone who wont come to us.

At any rate the biggest issue affecting Larkey was the lack of production from ziebell. Having any form of forward that was the slightest bit dangerous would have opened up so much more space for Larkey and CZ
