The AFL Coaches Association’s AFL Champion Player Award is an award voted by the 18 coaching panels

Would be interesting to know which member/s of our Coaching Panel actually give the votes.

I’m interested to know which vote givers didn’t watch the game!

Watching the last quarter right now before work, the commentators were adamant the JDG deliberate wasn't the right call. Since when are you allowed to have a clear kick and hit it 60m to the boundary with no teammates in sight and it's not deliberate?
Its funny because the commentators were saying it was off the side of the boot, etc, but the rear angle showed he is angled towards the boundary when he kicks. Ball was always heading that way.

On rewatch, noticed only Daisy Pearce asked why it was play on for Duncan when he marked, didn't go off the line but half feigned a handball. And she has a point as he hasn't gone off his line.

Pies fans booing clear handballs as throws, but dead silence for the numerous in the backs in contests. There was also a weirdly missed below the legs on CGuthrie halfway through the last about 45m out straight in front.
JB just says "great defensive effort from Collingwood".

Pies fans in for a shock when that hastheump twitter puts out the notes, they got away with so many missed free kicks to advantage. I thought they had a few when i watched it live, it was confirmed when I watched the replay.

Surely I am not the only one that loves watching Jezza celebrate when people take big marks. He has done it all year, and Sat arvo was no different...

Not sure I remember too many players that celebrate & appear visibly happier at their teammates achievements, when compared with their own on field achievements - no doubt Cameron enjoyed that goal he kicked from the boundary, but he looks like he almost enjoys this mark by Rohan more

I'm pretty sure it's the head coaches.

They've also made this change to the votes

I thought Selwood was superb in the QF...what a competitor he is....dogged, creative, brave and relentless.

Right up there in my top 5.
I was worried about the amount of time he spent on the bench but at the end of the game he still looked like he was running on top of the ground, some other mids looked like they were running in quicksand.

The end of yesterday’s game showed why the narrative around Collingwood somehow having some magical ability to win close games was absolute BS.

go back and watch the end of their close wins against shite teams, the opposition handed them golden opportunities to win the game by atrocious game management. Then go and watch the last couple of minutes of yesterdays game and see how a good size closes out a close game. We were never going to allow them the easy opportunities to score off the break that Carlton, essendon, etc did and surprise surprise they got beat.

once we got in front late on the game after the Holmes goal I was very confident, especially after we halved the centre clearance, we were just never going to give them a chance. It is the difference between playing well disciplined sides and playing average teams with no composure.
Let’s also be fair to collingwood and make it clear that this narrative they will get found out and exposed and belted in September because they won a lot of close games is also a load of crap. They are a good side and showed on Saturday those results were no fluke.

I will admit that I underestimated them.

But I maintain that they are no chance at winning the flag.

They will beat freo, the only question is can they be plucky again and knock over Sydney?? I give them an outside chance I really do, but I am not ripping them. I would tip them to beat Sydney at the MCG tho off what they produced Saturday

If Tabaner comes up, I give Freo a real chance. They will have enough height in defense and attack to worry the pies, Lobb and Tabaner will be good to offset Moore, and they have a midfield that can go.
And I think their only important injured player is now Fyfe. They basically have a full list to pick from.
