I think Carmichael has missed too much time to come back in now as anything other than a sub (obviously same goes for Krueger). His last game was also against the Swans and wasn't that good. Our centre square work has been good the last two weeks, so probably don't need to mess with it.

Bianco was ok last week, so I'm seeing no change.

Given how good Heeney and Hayward have been, the fitness of Maynard is a real concern
Assume Noble and Quaynor share Papley

I agree with all this. Can’t see the coaches meddling too much at this point. From all accounts Bianco played his role.

Yeah, I heard somewhere he might be hampered by a groin complaint, but can find very little reference to it. Given he wasn't mentioned in the club's injury report, I am optimistic he is ok. Famous last words...

Gonna be a good game. I thought Freo played into our hands on Saturday night with their backward/sideways handball (very reminiscent of Buckley years as some have pointed out). To be honest, the loss to Geelong gives me bigger confidence that we can win this weekend than the win against Fremantle does.

So, you're suggesting that the SCG, Adelaide Oval etc be torn down and rebuilt with an oval the same dimensions as the MCG?

The Adelaide Oval missed the opportunity. I would have thought during the redevelopment would have been the perfect time. Obviously too late now.

Recent history shows that having the break now is no longer an advantage.

Getting straight to week 3 is an advantage. Skipping a game for the risk of injuries is an advantage. Otherwise, it's actually a disadvantage.

So the pies are looking good, having now made it to week 3 with no new injuries. They have momentum and are not underdone from playing only 1 game since round 23.
