I am thinking Essendon is a possible target for a trade of picks (I hear the screams "Oh Flock No - that means Dodoro")

The Essendon list is actually in pretty good shape. A good amount of youth thanks to the exodus 2 years ago and to his credit, Dodoro has always banked talls so they are well stocked. Wright coming good this year is a major boost.

What they lack is speed. Either Sheezel or Tsatas would really suit their list build. No need to overpay for 1 when they can get pick 2 and one will be there. There are loads of inside mids but the Dons mids are all quite slow. To be assured of one of them, they are going to need to trade up.

They will need point for Davey Jnr, a quick forward who can take a turn through the midfield and is tipped he will be bid on as a late first rounder. That makes Dons pick 22 for sale.

It is a pretty simple and fair trade - 2 and 38 for 4 and 22. It is even in Dodoro's favour. Being so obvious, I guess it means Dodoro will not bite.

At 4 (becomes 5), one of Wadlaw, Cadman or Phillipou would be there so a slide back of 2 places means little. The real benefit is the possibility of jumping from 38 to 22 which opens up so many more options for us.

The Freo nuffies on the Logue Thread crack me up…. They all wanting pick 19 which currently doesn’t even exist.
If it did why in the hell would the Roos give up 19 for Logue. He has a contract from them he wants, Roos can offer whatever they like pretty much or threaten to walk him. They will offer something half decent I’m sure to maintain a relationship but surely not pick 19 lol.

We seem to have locked in a second rounder for Rioli which currently doesn't exist.

Logue being a former top 10 pick is pretty much the only thing driving up his price to pick 19, otherwise on exposed form he's worth mid-late second rounder at best

It's true - Fremantle would think they deserve more and North would want to pay less on exposed form. Exactly why an imaginary pick 19 would satisfy both parties.

In terms of actual worth I think about 25-30.

It’d be funny if North twice had pick 19 in this draft and they traded it for Coleman-Jones and then Logue.

There's some sort of double jeopardy joke there.

Can't be found guilty of stuffing up a trade with the same pick twice?

who are we? I think the BF burgers have convinced some it is reasonable. My gut feel is that the club is a bit smarter and the trade will be multi headed - multi party.
We probably includes 3 different official media channels with reasonably respected media reporters

clowns like robbo, corns etel and other human headlines. perhaps trade radio?? football media is an absolute joke even when compared to other media sectors. Many just regurgitate the rumours spread, without foundation, by others.
To consider the media to be a factuial authority is disturbing. To rely numbers worse.

That might be your chosen outlet but I have not heard any of those discussing it. I am talking grown ups suggesting it as being about right.

I like this

This may be obvious, but if Norf get pick 19, which is an end of first round or start of second round, depending which way you want to look at it, would they take that pick on night one or night two?

Pick 19 is traditionally the opening pick for night two of the draft.

Night one since it's a first-round pick with the others?

Just for the record, journos who think Rioli for Amon compo is about par:

Riley Beveridge: How Amon compensation pick unlocks Rioli trade for Power

Paul Hasleby and Michelangelo Rucci: Rioli’s former coach names Eagles forward’s trade and contract value

Mark Duffield: Eagles bracing for Junior Rioli trade request to Port
