Port gain JHF and Junior, lose Mitch, 8, 27, 2023 1st, 2023 2nd.

This is all predicated on 8 and 2023 1st not being enough for JHF, so they’d have to up an offer from there anyway. Surely North aren’t copping that.

Given 27 for Junior is probably around the mark......they're then giving up 8, a future 1st and 2nd and Georgiades all for JHF?

Seems overs to me

I feel like we are going to become a major player this trade period now with our draft hand…given all the reports of next years draft we have to find a way to walk away with 2 first rounders this year (by maybe trading second rounders this year to move up) and then some how extracting a first rounder next year using our pick 2…or vice versa

The idea of Meek appeals to me less now, knowing we already have

Naitanui for another 2 years
Williams for another couple
& Jamieson until 2025.

Meek on a presumably multi year deal with them just seems excessive. Needed to cut one of the above and add Broadbent if we were keen on bringing Meek in.

Agreed, but there’s always a version of next year where Port implode early and finally, FINALLY, sack Ken, limp to a 12-14th finish.

It all hinges on what Port do. I think we’re the club worst off in that deal. Maybe if Georgiades got involved…
Georgiades in the mix is a totally different kettle of fish. Would make the deal much more appealing.

So the reigning premiers are adding 3 talented juniors from opposition clubs and the team that’s finished bottom 2 years in a row is going to lose its number draftee from last year……system is broken
They should’ve made the trade with the crows last year. Was an insane offer.

Yeah but you're forgetting he's an A+ Balanced Bull. That's like the highest grading of meat possible.

*Sexlife etc

Reports that JHF is going to see a trade from North to Port.
Does this help or hinder our compensation for Willie as well as chances to snag Georgiades?

What?

15/17 are easily better, 19 questionable and in 18 the group of 6 has the best player.

You’d seriously rather Brayshaw over Allen, Fogarty, Ryan and Powell?
Fair point about '17 but I'd rather take Mills in '15 and its early days for 18/19 but I'd take 2/3 there as well. On the whole though, you'd take 2/3 over 12/19/20/21/26/27 given the choice but I misread HB's proposal anyway.

Don’t know about draft rules, don’t know about the strength of various draft classes, all I know is massive trades in fantasy football and that’s what this is babyyyyyyy.

Why could they not? Can the AFL not tick off exceptions to all the future trading rules, and surely acquiring last year’s #1 pick would qualify.
Anything to help out one of their welfare clubs I guess

Revising it because this is the only part of the offseason that is fun.

Eagles receive: 8, 2023 1st (Port), Georgiades
Port receive: JHF, Junior
North receive: 2, 27, 2023 2nd (Port)

Final draft hands if the above happens.

Eagles: 8, 20, 26, Port’s future first, Georgiades
Port: JHF, Junior
North: 1, 2, 27, Port’s future second

That’s more like it.
This is much better, but we may have to give up 38 to Norf.

Just think after the Crows offered plenty last year for JHF, they'll want significant compensation.

Probably hinders if anything. North will ask for every pick Port has available

I was curious to see if this was biased at all...

A few handy players in the 12/19/20/21/26/27 group but I reckon you'd take 2/3 in all six years

The comparison is 2 vs 12, 19 and 21 but this doesn’t take into account Father - Son and academy players, with picks shifting

However with the list above it is a 50/50 bet for me and would depend on the makeup of your list and what stage of the rebuild you are at. Are you aiming to get a genuine match winner to build around or do you need some depth and cream on the top type players to fill in the list?

Honestly we need all of the above
