What would it take to get pick 8 off Port?

Assuming 8 and future first doesn’t get it done for JHF, Port will need to up their offer. I wonder if our pick 2 could get involved in some way, as it would be massive for North and could net us a fair few picks in return?

2 and Junior for 8, 27 and a future second? Seems unders for us I think.

2 and Junior for 8 and a future first, Port send 2, 27 and a future second to North?

I wonder if port will ask the question for our pick 2 to help get JHF.

Thoughts on the below trade?

North - Pick 2, pick 38 from us
Eagles - pick 8, Georgiades, future 1st from Port.
Port - Rioli, JHF and 4th rounder from north

Interesting. If Georgiades comes into the frame now our selection becomes interesting depending on the pick we end up with

Eagles receive: 8, 2023 1st (Port)
Port receive: JHF, Junior
North receive: 2, 27, 2023 2nd (Port)

Final draft hands if the above happens.

Eagles: 8, 20, 26, Port’s future first
Port: JHF, Junior
North: 1, 2, 27, Port’s future second

Is any of this egregious? Is the Eagles end of things up there better than just keeping 2 and getting 27 for Junior?

What if Port jag a GF appearance, or heaven forbid a flag next year? 2 for 8 and 17/18 doesn’t really excite me.

I think we lose out there. Better off keeping 2 and getting 27 for Rioli

Agreed, but there’s always a version of next year where Port implode early and finally, FINALLY, sack Ken, limp to a 12-14th finish.

It all hinges on what Port do. I think we’re the club worst off in that deal. Maybe if Georgiades got involved…

Revising it because this is the only part of the offseason that is fun.

A few handy players in the 12/19/20/21/26/27 group but I reckon you'd take 2/3 in all six years
What?

15/17 are easily better, 19 questionable and in 18 the group of 6 has the best player.

You’d seriously rather Brayshaw over Allen, Fogarty, Ryan and Powell?

Not far off, as long as we are not too generous and start with Georgiades. At the end of the day if they come to us for pick 2 we have the upper hand.

Port get reamed there imo

Port can't trade a future 1st and a future 2nd can they?

Port gain JHF and Junior, lose Mitch, 8, 27, 2023 1st, 2023 2nd.

This is all predicated on 8 and 2023 1st not being enough for JHF, so they’d have to up an offer from there anyway. Surely North aren’t copping that.

Don’t know about draft rules, don’t know about the strength of various draft classes, all I know is massive trades in fantasy football and that’s what this is babyyyyyyy.

Why could they not? Can the AFL not tick off exceptions to all the future trading rules, and surely acquiring last year’s #1 pick would qualify.

Agree with this, yesterday he got caught 4 times holding the ball by taking on, or trying to take one too many players or one more swerve around a plater too many.

Love his pace and run and carry but he needs a bit of polish on his game, before he would ever be AFL worthy.

That said he had a very good season.
Yes ...but I saw a bloke still running in the dying minutes of a torrid contest on a pretty soft surface desperately trying to get a win... you can't train that at any level of footy.

PS... It's a grand old flag.
