Those who think we overpaid is probably a combination of not realising how much of a gun Taranto is and how weak this draft is
Our recruiting department were wise going all in at the draft last year. Brought in some young talent giving us the flexibility for this year.

Great work!

May well be, but he has nominated and like us they usually get the players were they want to go.

Exactly. Footy managers these days won’t do it unless it’s almost guaranteed to happen. Exemptions are Dodoro and increasingly Peter Bell.

Suspect the Hopper deal won’t be a straight two team trade. There’s ample opportunity for players and picks to be in a three plus team trade. Could be even spread over multiple deals.

The discourse out of both GWS and RFC as well as the media lean towards a deal being struck.

This is how we've gone with picks 12 and 19 since the national draft began, 19 Matthew Francis, 12 Jay Schulz, 12 Danny Meyer, Jordan McMahon (traded pick 19), 19 Ben Griffiths, 12 Ben Lennon, 12 Corey Ellis, Chris Yarran (traded pick 19).....reckon Tarantino has those blokes covered....

Congratulations, he is a good player when played in his best position, inside mid with maybe 10% time up forward.
As a matter of interest, which players interest you next year. Harry Himmelberg as a free agent?
Also, don't you think you would be better off keeping Graham and getting Hopper in 2024 as a free agent instead? Or do you know we would match like with Jeremy Cameron?

I think with Hopper, if we didn't get him this year, Geelong would have so trying to get him as a FA was not really feasible.

The equivalent of what we may have just given up for a guy who is 25 and needed to be offloaded due to salary cap restrictions.

Pick 12s-
Isaiah Pickett
Zack Butters
Charlie Curnow
Sam Docherty
Cyril Rioli
James Frawley

Pick 19s-
Sam De Koning
Tim English
Isaac Smith
Callan Ward
Shaun Grigg
This post is BS, your just cherry picking picks since 2008.

Would definitely take Himmelberg. He's got some talent.

I'm sure if we can get a deal done we'll do it rather than wait a year for Hopper. Prestia and Cotch are pretty fragile, and having Hopper next year means we can properly contend again.
