whats gone wrong with hewett,he was always top 3 last year, role changed?...am sure he was floating at HB last week...very quiet

start with Ed on J.Steele..........why not :thumbsu:
Ed should play of Steele. I agree. But someone needs to cool crouch too. He’s been their main distributor lately. But the addition of Steele should impact as well.

I'd love to see big Mirk get an opportunity this year. I reckon many of us prefer to highlight his deficiencies rather than what he could potentially offer.

His overhead marking needs a lot of work, doesn't do much up forward, but what he does offer is giving his side first use of the ball in stoppages with his tapwork. Just ask Paddy Dow. And if that's what we need to bring our mids into the game, bring it on....
Like pittonet...

Just sharing the "truth" about this year, rather than perception

Perhaps it's more an indictment on our main mids
That’s a “your truth”, it’s a very cherry picked stat- ball fell in his hands twice (stat doesn’t mention effectiveness of disposals or result) at a centre bounces, after he attended 8 (likely in one game) it’s not a real stat.
I’ll take he’s had 8 clearances total for the season so far as the counter “truth” (5 of which were in 1 game vs North)

He was one of our best Round 1, missed Round 2 injured, and then has had 3 poor performances.
Good chance it's the injury, so he should be rested. But he shouldn't be playing given his form over the last 3 weeks.

My gut feel for Sunday is that we win, by 2 or 3 goals. Ross is astute and his cunning will help the Aints stay in the game, but ultimately with our more potent forward line we really should get the 4 points.
Like the selection of Cincotta, could see him becoming a permanent part of our defence over the next few months.
Of course I hope McGovern is right to go, as he is clearly a very important cog in our team. Kemp deserves a regular spot and he will do well if required.
Will be watching JSOS closely in this game, has done absolutely nothing this year and is only in the team because nobody in the two's is seen as an adequate replacement. Actually, I believe Kemp could excel in this role.

You do with it what ever you like, the "facts" are, Fisher has a better strike rate for clearance per attendance than all our main mids

Iirc Kemp got tried up forward in the 2s for a while but was a bit meh in the role and went back to the backline

We really would be going for the Robbie Warnock experience playing Mirkov. Great tap ruck but invisible around the ground.

Looking forward to seeing Cincotta have a crack at it. Also just heard on the news report before that Vossy is dealing with a personal matter, but will still coach this Sunday. I hope all is well with him and it’s nothing too serious.

Otherwise, I’m expecting a big response on Sunday. Yes boys, it’s an expectation.

I always thought we would play two key positions back , two hybrid and three small running defenders .
With the two hybrid coming from guv marchbank or kemp --

Is Cowan playing as that hybrid type who can play tall aswell as small or is he just a stopping small defender ..

To be brutally honest - is there a role Kemp hasn’t been Meh in?

Not sure how he fits?

He hasn’t ripped it up in the 2s…in any part of the ground.

Not sure why so many think not only that he deserves a spot , but a permanent one.

Can’t see it yet…

Come on mate, it’s a selective fact - check out the table below
Sample size is the season- not your 1-2 games & 8 attendances

This will be my last post on the subject.

These are the total CBAs for the year. Divide the total clearances from the number of CBAs

He has been good across HB this year.

I've generally agreed with this sentiment, though his statline in the 2s this year has been pretty good.

Gov for Plow
Cincotta for Saad
Fisher and JSOS next to go when the list is fit. Used to love these blokes, but both have had more than enough opportunities and have arguably regressed in output. Not good enough. Bring in Binns, Dow and Carroll ASAP

What about Honey? The bloke should never play 1s again IMO. He and Fisher should be the ones dropped this week along with changes you have suggested.

Hes literally been ripping it up this season. See better.

Hope he works out.

He’s not really a third tall. Might be enough for 2’s but can he cover a third tall?

If playing Weiters, Gov & Young, what’s his role?

Depth.

He’s not quick enough to cover a Green, Heeney or Degoey type if pushing forward.

We don’t need another big & slow mid.

Has the same limitations as a forward.

Can’t see what he brings that we don’t have at this stage.

Centre clearances. Not total clearances.
