A nearly game really. Method itself looked better today, but our skills and ball handling were simply below AFL standard. If MJ could actually hold a mark it would’ve been a really good step forward for him, shame he’s going to cop a few weeks. Clearances a massive concern though

Outclassed, that's all that can be said about that performance. There weren't many guys that looked like they cared.

I just want to see us trying, which it doesn't seem like they are.

At least we tried to attack the game but our fumbles and skills generally were sub AFL level. I know Sturt didn’t have a huge day but why JL take him off and leave Banfield on? Sturt had some goal scoring opportunities ! Obviously it matters not a jot to the result …..but again why??

Better than last week and better ball movement but lack of skill and polish with the execution.

Getting smashed in the stoppages huge issue as it really destroys momentum after kicking a goal. However, not sure what the fix is there. They don't have any players really to replace them.

Take into account the high level opposition and playing up there and trying to acclimatize to the conditions

we did our usual thing and didnt rock up until half time
We didn't "rock up" until Brisbane took their foot off the accelerator. We were lucky they weren't in a mood to grab a percentage booster.

You know it's bad when Pearce isn't even our worst defender. Cox has got to be the laziest mf I've seen. Close to the worst game I've seen him play. Missing spoils left right and centre that lead straight to goals, extremely poor goal line work. Zero desperation. His intercepting and contested marking which are meant to be his strong points have completely gone to shit.

Can't tell who was worse out of Cox and Pearce. Embarrassing efforts by the both of them. Hamling surely a lock to replace one of them next week.
I mean it was Cox easily. Moose at least did some good things defensively, I have no clue what Cox was doing so many times, if he was any more relaxed he’d be asleep

Last year we would have periods in games where we were basically uncompetitive in the centre but this year it has become far worse. However we just seem to role up every week with the same players hoping for a different result.

It was actually not too bad, they're clearly more familiar with the the humidity, a couple of our blokes really struggled with it, particularly Schultz and Johnson.

Positives:
  • Players returned to some form, JOM, Brayshaw, Pearce, NOD.
  • First game of many that Amiss, Johnson, Erasmus play together.
  • Trying something new, but fumbles ruining things.
  • Young was superb today.

Nagatives:
  • Can't see how Banners starts over Erasmus. Surely, surely Ras comes in for Banners.
  • Hughes ain't an AFL footballer. Far out I'd rather Wilson than Hughes.
  • Sturt not taking his chances, God I want him to work out but how does he miss that bread and butter shot right in front.
  • Cox needs an absolute bake; he's an incredible player, but his lack of intent is a disgrace.

Biggest disappointment for me is Chapman reinjuring himself as he may have finally ended Hughes stay in the side. Same with Freddy's injury keeping Banners in.

Need to give Erasmus more of a go in there instead of the half forward role he was playing. That and hope that N.Fyfe pinch hitting can change the dynamic
