We're lucky that Colyer is injured, else you could guarantee he'd be in the "JL inner circle" too.
I’d take him over Banfield at this point frankly

Can't tell who was worse out of Cox and Pearce. Embarrassing efforts by the both of them. Hamling surely a lock to replace one of them next week.
Pearce had some shocking moments early on, and his disposal was still awful, but he worked his way into the game and had some really solid intercepts and contested marks.

Cox was just lazy, missing spoils, not defending. Thought he did ok starting some of those handball chains coming out of d50 but anything deeper than that he turned to shit.

Alex Pearce had FOUR spoils and three turnovers from 10 disposals

Cox had 11 spoils and four turnovers from 23 disposals.

Better than some of our performances which isn’t saying much. We at least tried to take the game on at times.

I thought Pearce and Young were much improved. Pearce was a lot more steady and held some marks. Young took the game on a lot. Walker did a good job on Cameron. Cox had a shocker.

Clearances and forward line still a huge worry. Sturt and Banfield just aren’t doing enough. Amiss a bit out of his depth as a key forward at the moment. Corbett could be given a go but there are no quick fixes.

Someone needs to tell JL there are more phases to the game than just 'the contest' :drunk:

Banfield, Sturt, Schultz and Amiss our worst based on the stats, fair representation? How did each go?
Banfield - can't remember a single thing he did all game. Cannot see how he offers more than Corbett at all.
Schultz - Had a game that looked like equalling Walker's performance in the SF
Sturt - missed a couple shots and subbed off. didn't do much.
Amiss - late goal but was unsighted. Dropped a few easy marks early that killed momentum .

Schultz had a shocker, Amiss only had 75% TOG which I find astonishing given we don’t have any other key forwards. Sturt was subbed off and only had 54% TOG Banfield was Banfield without the goals, last play of the game summed us up, 5m clear of his opponent and ball bounced off his chest.

Frustrating game, but at least we showed a different game style - that’s a plus.

once again we’re the youngest team of the round, it’s going to be a very tough year especially when we don’t have a first round pick.

good to see Brayshaw have a decent game.

not sure what’s up with Shultz, he hasnt looked good the last fortnight, not his usual pressure on the ball.

shame Johnson will have a week or 2 off.

Good on Brisbane for exploiting Brodie by targeting his opponent with the handball receive to clear. He was ineffective as soon as the ball started moving.

Erasmus should tag Neale in the 4th. If we play Treacy I'd like Jackson to do that task.

Dropped bulk marks, fumbled all day. Right from the first clearance.

There was a lot to like about Johnson aside from his ability to mark the ball, which usually comes in handy in the AFL.

He’s young. That goal he setup for brayshaw was absolute magic. Can forgive a guy in his 5th game not understanding the conditions early. Knows where to get the footy that’s for sure.
