Sounding like there might be a late change in store for the Cats. They'll be looking to tag the bejesus out of Dawson too.

That's going to be the new normal going forward though. Teams aren't too worried about getting beaten by Laird, Sloane, Keays, shut down Dawson and we don't have the class to cover.
So....then run Dawson head to head with Dangerfield and if they still want to tag him and create a 2 onto 1, we will have a spare somewhere we can use to hurt them. Why do we need to stay on the back foot - use him to our advantage and make Dangerfield accountable as if he is not, Dawson will hurt Geelong

If you are not debuting a youngster for fear of a touch up - why are we wasting a week on Tex/Sloane when we could be resting them?
Nicks has said that the Crows were buoyed by the loss to Collingwood (sounds odd, doesn't it?), in that they saw many positives and knew that their goalkicking let them down. They did enough to win, but didn't convert.
To me, that's an oversimplification and there are several other issues that need to be addressed (RoB's tapwork, Milera's poor form, Murphy's effectiveness or lack thereof, Fog's knee, Butts' brain-fades, the Soligo-substitution-plan, Dawson-moved-back, goalkicking selfishness; swept under the carpet?).
However, if going down there all-out to win is their mindset, I'm all for it.

With Sloane and Tex playing, there still might be a touch up. But without them, it might well be an annihilation :grimacing:.
My guess is Nicks wants to protect the Crows' % in the case of a loss.

As for resting Tex and/or Sloane, wiser heads than ours are monitoring their health, fitness and recovery.
I'm going to trust in Burgess and say that they they don't need to be rested.
Yet.

Hypothetical:
Dawson tags Danger.
Geelong player tags Dawson.
Keays tags that Geelong player, and so on.
That'd create a bustling, harassing gaggle of four (or more!) players running around in a group, falling over each other like the Keystone Cops :laughv1:.

Silly hypotheticals aside, I hope their mindset from the first bounce is to take the game on, keep the pressure levels up, and attack until the final siren. May the better team win.
If Geelong can beat the Crows playing at their best, I dips me lid.

This season we’ve either won or should have won if it weren’t for poor conversion. I’m oddly confident we, at the very least, will put ourselves in a winning position on Saturday.

Even Purple noted this.

I heard Geelong's last 4 week are statistically the best for 11 years.

If we win this will be a near miracle, would throw the proverbial "Cat" .. into the mix ..

They led in the last qtr. If u say Coll were lucky to win its the same turnaround.

Plus they have improved their form since, despite injuries.

Ok? Dont weep.

No its just weird.

You are comparing Collingwood hitting the front for the first time in the last 30 seconds. Yes, Collingwood did what Collingwood do.

In the Showdown, we were leading for 50% of the time but hey if thats the way you see things.

That is actually the definition of luck.

LOL

Lol. We are not that good. "Lucky" to beat Port and Hawks.
We have either won or put ourselves with a chance of winning.

GWS Game we were 5 goals up. Then we died.
Richmond game we got within a goal. Then they kicked the last 5.
Beat Port by 5 Goals
Beat Freo by 6 Goals
Smashed Carlton by 9 goals
Just got over the line against Hawks.
Collingwood if we kick straight we win.

Don’t know if I’m all there but I think we have a decent chance tomorrow for some reason

Gotta win there some time
I’m feeling this. Some key outs for Geelong, huge disappointment inside the club this week should see them come out with fire 🔥 Expecting a Carlton/Collingwood game first quarter blitz, just need to kick straight and it’s game on
