I can absolutely guarantee the Logue + McKay combo will function more than fine by getting CORR MCDONALD and Ziebell out of the team. Permanently.

I don't understand why our club has a different set of standards and does not drop players for poor form. It's unbelievable.

I will blow a gasket and fist my own ass to death if MCDONALD/CORR/ZIEBELL do not get dropped or moved out of that fuu**king backline.

It's clearly not working. It's just going to slow up our development for 2024. Put Ziebell at half forward. Drop CORR and MCDONALD, they're liabilities. Give Dawson a run of 4 games. Shambles he hasn't had a look in. He can't be any worse.
We're gonna be able to drive a truck into your ass bro!

If you're sick of just being competitive then you need to take more risks at the selection table.

Don't pick guys who are old and steadily below average. Pick guys who might be good or might be bad. Pick young guys who will learn from mistakes but have the athletic profile to actually have a high ceiling when it works.
100% if you are going to lose anyway, do it with players that will take your footy club forward, not old hacks that are not bringing anything to the table.

We are still picking old teams. Don't think we've fielded a top 3 or even top 5 young team all year despite having a so-called young list.
This is a non issue. Bergman, Phillips, Wardlaw, Sheezel, CCJ, PC, Eddie, all with 25 games or less. Add Comben and Goater to that mix soon. Powell's only a tick over that. The data is skewed by the senior players and contributes to far more alarm over our situation than is necessary. We abso ****ing lutely have a young list.

The problem's really just the back six. We have very few young defenders back there that can both compete in the air and hit a target. So the club goes with the tried and true recipe of McDonald, JZ and co. Can't say I blame the club, though I think Young's been stiff not to get a chance this year and Archer's been unlucky as a result of his own manic desire to improve. We badly need someone to either pop out of the woodwork and nail down a spot or find a defensive gem with a second or third rounder. Not sure on the percentages but I'd hazard a guess that a higher percentage of good defenders are second-fourth round picks than good mids or forwards.

I went for this team because I loved the way we played in the 90’s.
I was actually even prouder of the club between 2002 and 2016, our spirit and the way we dug deep not only on the field but for our very existence.

Since then I don’t know what we stand for. About the only thing you can count on is us being uncompetitive interstate and letting supporters down.

Rebuilding, what a cop-out. There are teams that never gut their list (and soul) and are up there every few years. Geelong and Sydney for example don’t try to buy time by asking the world to take a minute and let them not try for a few years.

Even the teams that do rebuild can at least count on being a legitimate challenger every 5 years. We’re coming up to 9 and looking worse than ever.

We apparently got our coaching dream team and yet from the outset they pick the likes of Howe, relist and pick Turner, drop players like Hugh Greenwood after he’s given his all and send ‘messages’ by dropping club stalwarts like Goldstein and Cunnington while persisting with certain other senior players who are absolutely not up to it. I’m yet to see much on game day that warrants the excitement we all felt last October. I know Clarko’s been away but yet here we are - 2 very unconvincing wins, a dozen straight losses. You’d think our new system would’ve produced at least a little bit more.

Greenwood gets dropped. We persist with Ziebell and Corr. LMac is our captain. We need senior leadership, yet these are the decisions that get made.

Today we were older than Adelaide and we had more games under our belt. I feel the same result would’ve happened anywhere, even at the dome. Absolutely.

Someone tell me what we’re doing, what we stand for and if this is all worth it? I expected a bit more from the team today. But they did what they always do - deliver less. With an older and more experienced team, we delivered what we delivered today.

Concerned is an understatement. I love Holden cars, not everyone can drive well. I love NMFC, not everyone is good at football or can make good decisions for the club. Don’t tell me to leave because I will match it with ANY shinboner here. I love this club. But poor decision after poor decision has made us the soulless, irrelevant, easy-beat joke of the competition and I’ve never enjoyed footy less. Help me dudes, give me something.

As a young player, it has to be really demoralizing watching guys like McDonald/Ziebell/Corr constantly letting the team down with shit efforts and soul destroying turn overs.

Guys like Mckay and Simpkin (still a shit kick) could add to that list too at times.

And of the ones that didn't play today.. Curtis Taylor, Hall, Howe, Turner...

All senior guys who connnstantttllyyyy make mistakes that cost crucial goals.

Still a lot of deadwood to turn over. We're still 3-4 years away from being a decent side.

I don’t anyone is being particularly targeting Phillips. His lack of pace is a major concern.
His lack of penetration by foot is also a concern.

He is good in close. His lack of ability to spread is a massive problem.
Couldn't get it over a jam tin today. Had about 3 turnovers in a row when they made their big run and took the game away.

Well said.

Wish that was the only thing. But we were belted on ball against the Dogs and we get beaten on the spread week in week out. That's because the side is unfit compared to other sides. We have a lot of players who don't run nearly enough or with enough urgency. Some of them are senior players in defence though and you"re right, our defence is putrid.

Yeah I was more referring to seniority and the angst over our list not actually being that young.

If you're talking in overall terms, you could point to a multitude of factors that negatively affect our play, and fitness and strength are right up there. Along with speed. And mental lapses

So many comments from people who weren’t at the game. Obviously watching on TV you couldn’t see what was really going on.

So from someone who was at the game and could see much more than what you could see on TV here is my summary.

As a team we are as shit as Stephenson is a player. We have such a long long way to go.

I want to boof Wardlaw.

Thank **** the cricket is on.

How good were Holdens, that’s about all I can offer you.

Although I’m at the stage where it really no longer concerns me.

And hopefully 2-3 more on the way this year.

Thats all I've got for you.

I feel so sorry for Adelaide based fans. One win in about 20 years and now yearly floggings.
That's just horrific
It’s not really painful anymore. I went but the rest of family chose not to go.

We are losing fans, and if something doesn’t change we’ll be for ever doomed.

Well said Accurate .
He was a worry for me since draft day . Short stumpy legged , slow & small .
All things that u are born with & can never change . You stuck with it .
Not for the modern day AFL .
Sorry .
Nice ripping kid but not going to make it .
Tom Powell > than Phillips

I wish we’d give Dawson, Young and Archer a go in the backline. The first two are at least good athletically and we know Archer will stick to his man and have a crack.

Of course we won’t, which will unfortunately result in one of our brethren fisting himself to death next week.
