It would be remiss of North to think that Tom Powell wouldnt be looking around at other opportunities.

The midfield around his age is just too deep, and someone is getting squeezed out. Even Phillips has been dropped multiple times this season.

LDU
Jy
George
WillPhill
Sheezel
Tarryn

All clearly in front of him and preferred in the middle.

Wouldn't have a clue what he is worth, but i think theres a chance he is gone come seasons end.

Clarkson loves him.

How many other clubs does he walk in to their midfield though?

He has the clear talent and I want him to have continuity, fwiw i rate him higher than Phillips based on profile, just needs confidence and time, definitely someone who we’ve botched the development of.
But at the end of the day we’ve given him the games - he’s played almost all games when he’s been fit - conversely a Luke Pedlar from Adelaide taken a few spots before him barely played for two years and now is playing on a flank. Fin Macrae has barely touched AFL football and was taken around 10 picks after him (viewed as similar level prospects coming in).

Just have to look at Tanner Bruhn - played on a flank at the Giants - wanted to move to get midfield time (or go home whichever) and has played majority on the flank with spurts in the middle at Geelong.

I think if he wasn’t from South Australia, there wouldn’t be any chatter. And he seems pretty settled in Melbourne.

He is settled in Melbourne. Works at a partner. Has a Melbourne misso. Best mates with Chom.

He's a first round pick approaching 50 games. We aren't trading him.

Exactly. And I do think he’ll be a part of our midfield in the future. The talk is nonsense.

In front of who out of the 6 i mentioned?

Not mentioning Scott and Stephenson who are clearly in front of him on a flank and a wing.
My best 22
B: Corr McKay McDonald
HB: Goater Logue Bergman/perez
C: Thomas Phillips Tucker
HF: Sheezel Comben Sleevo
F: Curtis Larkey Zurhaar
R: xerri Simpkin LDU
I: CCJ Wardlaw Powell Scott
Sub: Ford/Harvey

You rotate players through all those mids positions and flanks and off the bench

He’s essentially going to be our Angus Brayshaw

Thats a good team, i like it.

I don't think he will see anywhere near as much midfield time as others, and hasn't shown at all that he can play in defence.

Time will tell, i think its a big watch.

The only criticism of this list is the lack of small forwards, it’s been proven over and over again.
Our midsized forwards don’t offer enough when we dont have the ball, although they give good scoring pressure, teams can literally walk the ball out of our forward half.

It’s not surprising we played some of our best football, last couple of weeks when we had Spicer adding perceived pressure and tackles, not saying he is the answer as he needs to find the scoreboard more, it’s about balance and we need two or three of those types in the forward line, for when we don’t have the ball.

I look at that 6 and see a lot of question marks, like the rest of our list.

Jy is a good player, will he ever be a great player that can push for the 40AA squad?
LDU has proven himslf as a quality mid but has never really put a full season together for various reasons.
George looking good after his 5 or 6 games, still a couple of years away from developing a tank to push him into the top mids in the comp.
Sheezel, will he become a full time mid or play a role back or forward.
Tarryn one slip up away form being out the door.
Will Phil is tracking ok, but jury is still out. On output Powell is probably ahead of him.
