From Reddit

Hardwick has no desire to live in Adelaide, but he is opened to living in GC.

I've heard Hinkley gets extended if they finish top 4. That extension might be lengthened depending on finals results.

Also rumour is Port are already in a succession plan (Hinkley -> Carr). That it was initially planned to hand over in 2024 with Carr as HC, but it has covertly been bought forward after Tredrea's early season comments and crisis meetings the week after. Since then Carr has effectively been calling the shots (with assistants) from the box, with Ken mentoring and managing players from the boundary, as well as handling the media. This setup might continue into 2024 if we finish top 4 and all parties are happy.
If Port are already in a succession plan, and Carr is coaching, why is Donuts getting an extension? To be waterboy?

Doesn't make sense? Then again...with Koch at the helm anything is possible.

Dale Thomas and Nathan Jones on the LISTNR ‘Footy Talk’ pod.

“Port should be smashing Ken’s door down! He’s got them in the palm of his hand! I had them out of the eight! They’re the biggest bolter! Especially after they started zip-three!”

🤪
Honestly if he got us from 0-3 to 14-2 he deserves a new contract.

Here's a fun scenario:

Koch & Co begin negotiations with Hinkley's agent for a 2-3 year extension :whitecheck:.
We lose to Carlton :whitecheck:, Collingwood :whitecheck:, and the Crows :whitecheck:.
Carr interviews for the Richmond job :whitecheck:.
Ken's extension gets announced in the first week of August ❔, right before our Geelong game, which we lose ❔.
We beat Giants and Freo, and lose to Richmond, to finish the season with 16 wins and 7 losses.
Going into finals with Dixon, Lycett, Aliir, JHF, and McKenzie under injury clouds.
Underdone backups in Lord, Hayes, Fantasia, and Visentini.
Jonas is back as a regular in the side.
Play Collingwood in the first QF and lose
Play Adelaide in the SF and lose.
Richmond announce Carr as their head coach for 2024.
Dixon :crossmark:, Lycett, Boak, McKenzie, Clurey, all announce their retirements.
Hinkley windmills his way to his shuttered oasis.
We wake up in February and go through the whole nightmare again.

Edit: checking off things as they occur, or are reported in the media.

Too bad Ken had to use an abacus for his exam circa 2013-2017 when everyone else was using a calculator.

And if you don't buy that, do me a favour - take the current best 23 and then tell me who you would replace in it from any list we had between 2013-2017. If you can't pick more than 11 players, it wasn't really a premiership calibre list, was it?
That is completely disingenuous you are comparing to a team that is second favourite to win a premiership and say you need at least 50% of the team to be from the previous era.

So is Boak Wines DBJ and Jonas 2014 era or 2023 era

B Broadbent Aliir Hartlett
HB Cassisi, Jonas, Houston
C Polec Wines K Cornes
HF Gray Dixon Monfries
F Westhoff Schulz Wingard
Ruck Lobbe B Ebert Boak
INT Butters, Rozee, Finlayson, Byrne-Jones

So by that there are 17 players from the old list some still playing today but I am judging players playing at their peak or the peak that we have seen them.

That is a pretty good team which is topping up a 2013-2017 team with the best 2023 players I could do the same top up the 2023 team with the best of the 2013-17 wouldn't be exactly the same team but again would be an excellent team. Its why its a useless exercise. And anyway we lost and we didn't lose for just one reason wasn't just Hinkley but wasn't the list either.

Entirely plausible.

It is a bit of a doomsday scenario but not that far fetched.
The bit where we lose at home to Richmond is pretty far fetched. Otherwise all of that could easily happen.

You lied, that wasn't fun at all.

If this actually was to happen i am 100% done. But i'd hang around on this forum for the lolz as the club completely implodes.

That’s a 13-10 or 13-9 without the sub.

I don’t like that backline Macca.

I actually think our 2015 list was better than the 2014
Just mentally a bit weaker and we kicked Boak out of the midfield just cause

I'll go

Jonas (15) Carlile Mckenzie

Houston Allir Hartlett

Polec Wines (23) Bergman

Rozee Dixon Gray

Finlayson Schulz Wingard

Ryder Butters Boak(15)

Int Westhoff SPP Drew Ebert
Sub Byrne Jones (23)

15 12
23 11

Now wait and see Janus use this as "PROOF" we have a shit list in 2023 and Stinkley should be re-signed because when we pooh our pants its not his fault.

Why are people putting Hartlett in as a defender when he didn’t play there until 2017 and literally had no inclination of being one until that time?

2014/2015 Hartlett would have had zero clue how to defend. This is not an exercise on what they would become, it’s what they were at the time.

Also, anyone picking 2013-2017 Wines over 2023 Wines isn’t picking a best 23.

I'll give it a go.

Trengove, Carlile, Bergman
Houston, Aliir, Hartlett
Polec, Wines 2014, Boak 2014
Wingard, Marshall, Finlayson
Powell-Pepper, Schulz, Gray

Lobbe, Rozee, Butters
Westhoff, Farrell, Cornes, Monfries

2014 - 13 players
2023 - 9 players
