And then Kane retired in 2015, Polec did his navicular and was never the same player, Hartlett's lack of a tank was exposed by the reduction in interchange rotations and Ebert started suffering from concussion issues.

Yet did the double over Hawthorn in 2015 with two scintillating displays of football, while managing to lose to 18th, 17th and the Camporeale Crows coming off being hammered in Perth.

Poor Ken :(

All the Hartlett talk of where he should be in the 2014 team and nothing mentioned of his movement into the midfield in the 2023 version.

An oversight?

Also you keep forgetting that in 2014 the rotation cap was 120. It is now 75.

This does not make the list any less premiership ready in 2014. 2014 was a year where we could absolutely have won the flag and didn't. The rotation cap is a complete red herring, because we're not talking about if the 2014 list is premiership ready in 2023, we're talking about if they were premiership ready in 2014. They very clearly were one of the sides capable of winning it.

Brad Ebert was no less a player in 2015 than he was in 2014, the concussions came later.

Then in the 2015-19 era, our entire list bar Robbie Gray regressed. When a whole list regresses, it's not bad luck. We've spent 8 years now with a culture that says winning doesn't matter and we've failed to capitalise while plenty of lists that were no better or worse than ours got on with winning flags.

Heard from a completely independent source that Ken to GC and Hardwick to Port, zero to do with BF and the guy comes from Victoria.

Start The Carrdwick

Dale Thomas and Nathan Jones on the LISTNR ‘Footy Talk’ pod.

“Port should be smashing Ken’s door down! He’s got them in the palm of his hand! I had them out of the eight! They’re the biggest bolter! Especially after they started zip-three!”

🤪
So we've now lost less games after 16 games than we had after 3? That's seriously impressive - no wonder Ken is widely referred to as a master coach!!!

The majority does not view it this way!
53.3% think that hinkley will be at alberton 2024!
How can yu critique by attaching an environment where young men feel good about themselves to does not matter if lose is really dredging for another misplaced unfounded criticism.
Only 46.7% of people want you sacked after winning 12 in a row. That's quite a critique.

Back in 2014 you NEVER would have named Hartlett at half back. It's like someone naming Farrell at half-back before 2022 or Williams at half-back before this year. The only reason why you're doing it is because of their known output now. And Hartlett only became a defender because he didn't have the tank to be a mid after the interchange cap came in.

Re Hartlett

Literally on his Wikipedia page
" However, in 2015, Hartlett had an up and down season. He was often serviceable in his role across half-back and pushing up to the wing but seemed to be less damaging "

He also played 2011 and 2012 at half back it isnt a foreign position

Also re wines

****ing lol. No one is saying that 2021 wines isnt the best wines
What a strawman.

I want to play a little game of are the "INS" better than the "OUTS" because I want to dispel this myth that we have had a bad list for most of the last 10 years.
These are the rules if you bring in a better player that is an established player and the Ins are better than the Outs you should improve immediately. If you bring in young players and the Ins are better than the outs then you should improve in 3 years, when the young player is 21. If the Outs are better than the Ins then if you go down the ladder somewhat that is expected.

This may take a while so I'll do a year at a time.

2013 Draft

Hinkley has coached his first season 2013 we finished 7th (12-10) won our first final then lost to Geelong by 16 pts so we finish 6th.

INS OUTS
WhiteBrett Ebert
PolecBlee
ImpeyD Butcher
HarveyHoskin
Byrne-JonesPfeiffer
AmonSalter
RussellD Stewart
S GrayM Thomas
Renouf (rookie)Renouf
Flynn (Cat B Rookie)

I would like to think that the INS are better than the OUTS and we bring in 2 players that are established players Polec & White which mean we should have immediate improvement but also bring in Amon, Byrne-Jones and Impey that should give us improvement 3 years time as draft players who will be 21 yrs old in 2017.

So looking at that we should improve considerably in 2014 from a 6th place finish.

I'm happy to hear alternate views on that but I think its fair to say our list improves considerably from 2013 to 2014.

So we arrive in 2014 with Polec and White added to the team. In 2014 we finish 5th (14-8) win our first 2 finals and lose to Hawthorn by 3 points in the Preliminary Final which is a finish at 4th. So the expected improvement was there with the 2 new players added to the team and the added quality.

I think that again we are in positive territory INS are better than the OUTS with Ryder coming into the team in 2015 to bolster our Rucks and we have another young player that will be 21 years old in 2018. Not as big a positive as the previous year but one established player Ryder for Cassisi plus a good young player in 3 years (Howard). We should be expecting as good a year as 2014.

Here we are in 2015 and expectations are high and disaster. We finish 9th (12-10) 2 wins less than the previous year. Didn't really recover after being 3-5 and losing to the team that finished 17th and 18th which IF we won would have had the same Win/Loss as the previous year.

This one is a small OUTS are better than the INS with Hinkley paying a fortune for his captains pick. Getting Houston and Bonner has 2 decent players picked up for not much gives us 2 more that will turn 21 in 2019.
