I’ve been Mandela Effected! Because I swear we drafted Dan Houston in 2015 and that he was on our list in 2016.

EDIT: My latest research shows that he was on the 2016 list and I’m not going crazy.

He was drafted on 27 November 2015 which was called the 2016 Rookie Draft which confusingly was held on the same day as the 2015 National Draft so says Wikipedia.

Me too but I think that to save face the club will do the handover because I don't think anyone else wants Ken. It's clear that when push comes to shove all of them go... err..ah..nah.
The most important thing is it doesn't matter if there's no interest from other clubs. Hinkley is out of contract. We're not obliged to do anything and tough t1ts if he hasn't got a job. He won't starve with the millions we've paid. Expensive doughnuts.

Worst case is daddy actually makes a grand final and gets pumped, then we can't even call him donuts anymore 😭

Actually the original donuts graphic was referring to premierships so even in the unlikely event he makes a grand final we can still run with donuts.

Except the national media has concocted a narrative that anything less than a contract extension for Hinkley would be tantamount to shooting Bambi.

A half back doesn't have 489 disposals, 131 tackles, 76 inside 50s and 75 clearances (27 centre clearances, 44 stoppage clearances) for the season. Sorry.
I know God himself is never wrong but **** maybe tell Houston to slow down then? You're argueing fine margins here mate let it go

Here's a fun scenario:

Koch & Co begin negotiations with Hinkley's agent for a 2-3 year extension.
We lose to Carlton, Collingwood, and the Crows.
Carr interviews for the Richmond job.
Ken's extension gets announced in the first week of August, right before our Geelong game, which we lose.
We beat Giants and Freo, and lose to Richmond, to finish the season with 16 wins and 7 losses.
Going into finals with Dixon, Lycett, Aliir, JHF, and McKenzie under injury clouds.
Underdone backups in Lord, Hayes, Fantasia, and Visentini.
Jonas is back as a regular in the side.
Play Collingwood in the first QF and lose
Play Adelaide in the SF and lose.
Richmond announce Carr as their head coach for 2024.
Dixon, Lycett, Boak, McKenzie, Clurey, all announce their retirements.
Hinkley windmills his way to his shuttered oasis.
We wake up in February and go through the whole nightmare again.
And I thought I was grim thinking what the season could have looked like if a couple metres added to a kick for goal for Sydney and Essendon and a couple less on Houston's after the siren.

Darker still add in Hardwicke signs for the Suns, the tingles winning the two against Collingwood and we're 2017 all over again.

FWIW I reckon we're as good as we've been since 14, and if it means Kenny stays out of the box, I'll take it in any shape or form.

Why would a commentator know when Hinkley's birthday is ffs?

Why don’t you compare Hartlett 2015 to Hartlett 2017-2021 when he actually did play half back? Hamish was never even close to being Houston’s level at half back even at his best. Houston is AA caliber. If Hartlett played at that standard he never would have been on the trade table at the end of 2016.

But believe what you want.

Houston was the November 2016 Rookie Draft, debuted R1 2017 as the classic preseason bolter.
Not true, he was on our list for an uneventful year at the Magpies before we played him at AFL level.

lol, home of Triumph. If only Hinkley could triumph in a Preliminary Final and make a Grand Final.

The original Triumph went bankrupt in 1983 and the new company based in Hinkley obtained the rights to the name. It's a bit like how the Port Power Football Club came to exist.

The irony of you ever saying to any of the devotees of Sack Hinkley movement that we should back Hinkley to back the club while you continually sh!tcan the players. You do realise that your team of champions strategy is impossible due to the draft?
