So much for Warner coming home! 😂 First signs of the salary squeeze being on at the Swans and the AFL swoop in to help…

If the afl did it properly and gave the players 8% on top of what they took home it wouldn't be a problem .

But all they did was gave them 8% extra salary cap space .

Contracts were the same they just had more money to spend

Who is Luke Baconbean Cal Twomey links us to.
Also Jack hutchinson.
Edit . Jack Hutchinson has been a standout as has Luke Beecken been .
Had to google Beecken, but this really stood out;

94% disposal efficiency.

Few videos on him, got a lovely kick on him and looks to have short and depth covered with it. Looks quick too.

Which they spent on Kurt Tippett.

Doesn't matter even if it's done that way. You just pay your current players 8% less, let the AFL top them back up to what they're on now, and you have an 8% sized hole at the top of your cap to go get a very nice free agent with that no other team can afford to match.

Probably why they've been bleating about extra games in WA - it's a smokescreen to let them bring back in COLA while people are distracted with outrage somewhere else. Next you'll find it'll be all "okay okay, no extra games in WA, we'll just do the COLA, gotta do something to fix this competitive imbalance"

Here is an extra Million again . The thing is they get the extra money for a house which is always going to be an asset . Just give everyone cost of living allowance and then they all have equal asset . Our players can then live in Dalkieth

Food stamps to help with costs of living.

Would definitely prefer Beecken over Hutchison if Cal’s mail is right. Has been linked to Hawks and more closely to Crows. Very classy by foot and at least we’re discussing a rebounding defender and if it worked out would be easier list decisions come end of year.

Maybe if the AFL was to pay cola they should stipulate how it is to be spent

Just on the HUN article, it only speaks about assistant coaches and the soft cap. There is nothing in the article itself about bringing back additional salary cap for NSW clubs.

I think you might be right though, because at the same time the article states NSW clubs are against loosening restrictions on NGA bidding.

Hammer reckons we might grab Murdoch? to replace Long. Was due to win the Sandover (beating Hammer) until he got injured last year apparently.

Best option I think , local player dominating WAFL games plus weakens EF.....IF he signs for eighteen months which is almost certain of any player we take in the MSD .

And this is my worry. Is he Brayshaw-standard? What exactly are the attributes that translate to the next level? So many outstanding WAFL players can't make the jump.

If he's been playing in Longs position at WAFL and almost winning the Sandover that's pretty impressive. I haven't looked into it but it sounds as though he's been in ripper form this season as well.

I'm all for taking stars in wafl especially mad. Look at Liam Ryan winning wafl coleman

Is he playing Long’s position though or is he just another small mid we are going to play as a small forward
