A bit old, but worth raising for the LoLs at the Dockers.

Trent Croad and Luke McPharlin went to the Dockers for pick 1, 20 odd and a pick in the 30s. Two of those picks turned out to be Hodge and Sam Mitchell. They then traded Croad back to Hawthorn a couple years later.

… for pick 10, which they used on Ryley Dunn.

That’s a big reason why no one traded away pick 1 for the next twenty years.

2024 and 2025 1st pick for Warner + Swans 2024 first rounder
Swans first to Tigers for Baker
Eagles second to Dogs for Busslinger
Sign English as a FA
Delist some scrubs
2025 premiers

I like it but Warner has a little brother he wants on the list as well .. Any suggestions

I've seen the club draft players like Mackenzie's schoefield baraass mcgovern with latter pics why can't we do that again instead of using our second or f2 in a trade?
Those guys took years to develop.

Busslinger should be ready to go next year . He was a first round draft pick because of his intercept marking and ball use .

With the modern game being about turnovers and launching attack from the HBF busslinger looks an exciting prospect .

He probably would have already made a debut in a team that wasn't so stacked with talls

So much for Warner coming home! 😂 First signs of the salary squeeze being on at the Swans and the AFL swoop in to help…

Here is an extra Million again . The thing is they get the extra money for a house which is always going to be an asset . Just give everyone cost of living allowance and then they all have equal asset . Our players can then live in Dalkieth

Disgusting if true from the AFL.

That fundamentally misunderstands who is most affected by cost of living pressures. Hint: it's not people on $500,000 a year. Hell, even the 18-year-olds are on $100,000 and sharing a house. They are not struggling to pay their rent or groceries.

None of this money will be spent on assistant coaches. Only on player retention

I suspect Ruscoe is picked up regardless on if it is us or not which is kind of a issue in a way for our WAFL side

Id be shocked if Brisbane didnt use a pick on him if he slides that far. Perfect replacement for McCarthy over the next 12 months. Bulldogs as well I expect will have interest too

Freo will be waiting for Ruscoe if available, Why not Amiss is showing signs of being sensitive to rough play and Taverna is done ..

Each of the cities in which the football teams are based have advantages and disadvantages. Some have better weather, surf, nightlife, traffic etc.. Some carry with them a much greater travel burden. Why would the AFL focus on a single disadvantage such as cost of real estate and compensate for it?

None of the Sydney based players are forced to invest in Sydney real estate. A high proportion of them can probably afford very nice accommodation in Sydney anyway, and expect to realise much greater capital gains than they would elsewhere over the longer term.

Nothing surprises me with the AFL these days but to go back to COLA after the previous abuse of that system by Sydney, in circumstances where Sydney and GWS are already reaping a rich harvest from their academies, would represent a high water mark for stupidity in sports administration by the AFL.

I haven’t seen his name mentioned at all, but a left-field MSD selection might be Claremont’s Anthony Davis? Averaging 21 disposals and 7 marks as a Key Position Defender in the WAFL.

Blight is generating a lot of buzz, but Davis is the same age and looks to have much better ground-level mobility to me. Nice reliable kick out of defence. Drifts forward and hits the scoreboard on occasions. Would add a bit of insurance against a Barass/McGovern injury.

Are Sydney and GWS struggling to attract and retain quality players?

No.

They are both top 4 lists and will remain that way until the academy rort is balanced.

So now they want more money because they have access to so many gun players.

GAGF.

Stop trading in quality free agents if you need to pay the gun players you already have.

It will be both

Im sure they will want whatever they can get.

However Sydney is a destination city for quality free agents. WA is not due to travel.

How can they cry poor when both clubs have lists the envy of the competition with free agents lining up to get there. Plus academies producing guns every year.

Talk about having their cake and eating it too.

If the AFL roll over on this its a joke. How much more advantage do they provide the NSW teams before something breaks? And when I say break I mean fans turning on the game and AFL House. Will be more than a pile of cow manure dumped at AFL House thats how corupt they are getting.

If the NSW clubs were struggling sure you would consider it. But they are absolute power houses ATM and the only thing that is equal for all is the salary cap.

Unfortunately the AFL needs NSW and QLD to be powerhouses to compete with the NRL. They cant afford to have a drop off clubs like North
