Great win by the BABY CATS!

Yeah, that’s right, we are a young side.

Holmes, Knevitt, Dempsey, Neale and Humpries all 21.

Plus Clark at 19!

That’s 6 of our 22 aged 21 and under. If it was any other team it would be the stuff of headlines.

With O.Henry also 21 to come back at some stage, no rush, get him fit again.

Stewart in the midfield isn’t too bad. Get him around the ball, he was improving during the game.

Danger, he’s a star. If he’s fully fit we will always be a chance.

SDK, not the best for ruck but provides more than Stanley and a very nice kick. Conway is the future, get him playing when he is right.

Essendon ended up with 60 inside 50s for 9 goals. The last few weeks they would've scored 20 goals+ with that amount of ball going forward. Sensational effort by the backline tonight.

60 inside 50s for 60 points...

So they essentially scored 1 behind per entry - that's a shocking conversion rate

Jack Henry played well I thought, a classic defenders game.

SDK follow up work in ruck was good. Perhaps a few weeks on the thick of it will get him back to his best.

Not convinced about Stewart in the guts. But good to see us try, and we didn't miss him too much up back.

Essendon are crap.

Humphries and Knevitt for the rest of the season. See them grow.
Leave MOC and Mullin out. Mullin needs to develop in the 2s.

Rising star is a battle between two. Wardlaw and Dempsey.
Duncan and Tuohy still have some good games in them. Not every week. Would rest Duncan next week given he was subbed.

Happy we've experimented and tried SDK in the ruck. Keen to see how Conway goes tomorrow, does well and I'd bring him in for Hawthorn.

Should win 3 of our next 4 and get back on track.
Also Caleb Windsor- all class and Holmes like already as a first year player

Very noticeable to my eye we played hard strong footy, V lined a contest, were aggressive and spread very well.

We as supporters have asked for change and we got it.

We had 3 young players come in and play well.
Not only did they start a seasoned player as sub, they made the decision to sub off one too “albeit maybe not by choice” but in the past Duncan would’ve stayed on and a player like Clark or Knevitt would’ve been subbed.
SDK was solid without staring and I’d say he broke even with the Dons rucks.

First time in a month I’ve been confident going into a game.

Very happy

Duncan was cramping and they didnt want him to ping a calf again. But otherwise i agree.

Im not a fan of this ruck issue and we wont keep getting away with it. Must bring in conway next week.

Neale needs to go back to the vfl and work on his intensity.

But id keep humphries and knevitt in.

Better selection just need to drop one or two more vets next week (they will be but will probably be 'managed').

Anyone know Blicks ruck stats? I thought he was great as the game wore on, seemed to have the big Dons measure.
Still a bit fumbly at ground level, but a great improvement. Thought the wings worked well, love that get out pass from the back line, they had it really working, at last.

Essendon are crap.

Agree with Henry, I gave him a vote, he just affected crucial contests either in our favour or to neutralise them at important times when the game was still in the balance.
