What time is the deadline?
There's a List Lodgement due today. The AFL website has articles talking about who GWS & Hawthorn are shuffling to their rookie list. So far all we've had from the Crows today is the Welsh announcement.

I can only assume that they've lodged the paperwork, but haven't made any media announcements as they wanted clear air for the Welsh news. Best guess is that they announce the delistings and rookie upgrade tomorrow.

I still think some team(s) will do some funny business in the late 40s/early 50s and bid on some of the Father Sons like Welsh & Anthony Stevens’ kid as well as the Saints NGA’s and even the Swans academy player they have this year.

Crows will still match but with a real minor points deficit which will probably just come off one of the future 3rd’s they have for next years draft.
If the bid comes that late then we won't have any problems matching, and won't need to go into deficit.

Borlase Keane and Murray so we have one rookie spot.
It's not that simple, given that we also only have 1 spot on the senior list, and we're required to make 3 ND selections (including rookie upgrades).

If we want to take him in the RD, then we need to upgrade 2 rookies, and shuffle 2 players from the senior list to the rookie list. However, that leaves us unable to match any bid in the ND, as we wouldn't have a senior list vacancy for him.

If we want to take him in the ND, which is by far the more likely option, then we need to upgrade 1 rookie and shuffle 2 players back down.

He needs to be so that we fill the requirement of three ND picks.

Deserves to be as well, could have very easily left to Collingwood in the trade period but stuck around and will be a key pillar for us next season.

Wouldn’t be against smith doing what Gunston has done and taking the hit as an older player to free up space.

As it stands we can't take more than 1 pick in the ND.

Yes Pick 4 and Welsh are the only additions we will bring in from here.

ANB, Cumming, Peatling, Pick 4 and Welsh is a good off season. Our best in awhile. We have a lot of young guys already needing game time. Not sure finding room to add another one is a priority

We don’t have a list spot in the ND without moving someone to the rookie list, hence why the question was asked when we are making more changes given it was supposed to be today

Ahh ok. I just go from the info on here. I was under the assumption was that we had two spots. Are we correct on this though? Every thing I have looked at says 2 spots. AFL website. Footywire. Footywire could be wrong but is Peatling on our primary list. He was a rookie at GWS and is still labelled a rookie on our list. likely to merely be a transition error when they update the lists. Anyways, keep me posted.

Two spots on the primary list and none on the rookie list.

We need to use 3 spots in the national draft, which can include a rookie upgrade. But we need to make a spot on the primary list for that rookie upgrade. Hence the need to delist a primary list player and then (allegedly) select him in the rookie draft.
